One question though, I am a multisporter, Have you been able to run again?

I have never been mucn of a runner, but I can run about as well as I could before. I used to play a lot of touch, but I have cut that out as it's not worth the risk anymore.

Are micro fractures detected on normal x-rays?

(Sorry if its a simple Q.)

Micro fracture is the name of the treatment, not the condition. It is a treatment designed to stimulate the growth of cartilage by drilling tiny holes in the end of the bone where the cartilage is missing.

riaanb that is great to hear that you have recovered so well. what is your knee doing during the squat?? that will tell you what muscles you need to focus on. if the knee is falling inwards then you have to concentrate on your external rotators of the hips. ie piriformis and glute medius.

Thanks Wannebe, I go to a bio twice a week (have been for almost a year) and do another session with my physio/pilates instructor once a week. The knees do fall in a bit, as expected, but mostly the stability from the knees down on both legs (I did have surgery on both) sucks. It's getting there, I was just saying to Airborne that the big muscle groups are easy to rehab as you can see results quickly. It's those small little F#$%ers that are frustrating.
