Racing Ralph?

I need to order some new tyres

 

Currently running WTB weirwolfs UST close to 800g's

 

CRC have racing ralphs UST on sale for 430 rand @ 650g's

 

Was thinking of trying a set out plus the sale price and added bonus of shedding about 300g's of rotational mass makes it very attractive.

 

Was interested to hear any feedback from users of these?

 

The WTB's are just about indestructable my main concern is punture/damage resistance on the ralphs are they quite tough in UST ?

I used them a while and they are pretty good, just wear quite quickly and expensive. Went to Maxxis and they last much longer.

Only hefty import duty on clothing and complete bicycles. For parts you can work on about 15.5% for vat and import duties.

There is in fact no import duty payable on bicycle spares (including tyres).

Clothing and complete bikes attract duty though. The percentage varies based on fabric used (for clothing) and country of origin.

Customs VAT and Clearing fees are due on all imports though. Customs VAT is higher than regular VAT (14% of (Price + 10%)). The Post Office charges R25/package flat fee to do the clearing.

 

One odd thing though...

A number of guys having bought tyres from CRC claim they punctured easier and suspect that softer compounds are used in the European spec tyres. I don't know what to make of that.
