thx willehond, ja im about 25kg overweight and working VERY hard on losing it all!! im currently on a diet named "the diet everyone talks about" - jip thats the name - ive lost 12.5kg previously and not again anything,, so you recon if i stick to the 3500kj intake and the 1000kcal per day activities im on the right track?

The calorie calculator says that if you do "Bicycling - stationary, moderate" activity for 50minutes and you weigh 86kg, then you burn 502 calories (sic).

im on 100kg so what does this mean- i loose more or less? thx so so much for all the info, you guys will never know what this means to me!

About 4/5 years ago I lost 30kg's by just eating a bit more responsibly (counting calories) and upping my exercise by running/cycling. Weight comes off quickly and I lost it within a year. Then I stopped watching what I ate and just kept on exercising. Weight has been stable for 3 years, but recently picked up a few kg's living "the good life".

 

To loose them I used the calorie calculator to determine a) what to eat and B) how many calories I burned per hour per activity (very anal I know, but calculating it all works for me!) and in the last 3 weeks I've dropped 4kg's without ever going hungry. Watching/counting calories work for me.

 

Eat about 2000/2200kcal per day and throw in exercise of about 500kcal and you will shed pounds in no time. Watch out for hidden calories like sugar in coffee and wine and cut out snacking! If you burn more than 500-1000 calories you might get cravings to binge, so keep it all to realistic levels. It can be done!

 

I'm sure some people might say that is too much too soon, but I've done it before and it works for me.

That's an awfully low intake. The typical recommended deficit for sustainable, long-term weight loss is around 500 kcal/day. Based on that and assuming your calorie calculations are correct, you'd need around 2300 kcal or 9600 kJ per day.

hey - ja the diet im on, one counts your kj (not weight watchers) - i will stick to the 800kcal ave per day and my intake of 3500kj and let see what happens!! its always nice to year from people thats "been there, done that and got the badge" ... will let u know, im going to weigh on thursday! ... ja i would like to loose these kg`s in about 4months,,, hahaha
