Went to Westgate this morning, on route we must have passed around 20-25 cyclists (not one group, one here, two there etc) and not ONE had any lights on their bikes (front or rear), only one had a bright yellow jacket on. Come on guys, lets be more visible so we lessen the chances of becoming fatalities. I cycle with lights on the around the dirt roads here. It may save your life. The only reason I see you is because I am looking at your bikes! The morning is cloudy and dull and the least you could do is buy pair a set of cheap lights, R150 for your life?

In town, one lady just cycled across the road on a red light, that is well annoying, and then a car almost got her coming in off the slip road, close call for that cyclist. Might not be so lucky next week!

And before we label the roadies as the culprits, there was one mountain biker coming up the big hill from Hekpoort with a support car doing about 3km/h behind her/him blocking all the traffic. So what happens? The cars behind the support car start taking chances and swerve into the oncoming lane. Really, as far I can see it, if you need a support car, don't cycle, go to spinning classes or start knitting! Or have them wait for you somewhere, what gives you the right to block traffic? But at least this one had their hazzards on, at the bottom of the hill by the T junction in Hekpoort there was another support car tagging behind someone with NO lights on! Duh! Or should that be double Duh to these tjops??!!

Sunday grumble over!

I can understand the roadies being tarmac..umm...challanged...;)

But the Mountain Biker...now thats just not acceptable ! Firstly..what was he/she doing on tar..and Second...I wanna see a support vehicle follow them through some singletrack..now that would be good for a laugh !

Sorry, I should have been a tad more specific, the mountain biker was on the shoulder of the road, however the support vehicle wasn't!
