Centrelock wheels

I have Avid brakes and recently bought XT wheels - forgot they only take centrelock rotors - damn Shimano hubs! What would be the best solution : adapters or do shimano rotors work with the Avid (Elixir R)calipers?

any rotor work with any brake. If you don't mind the extra weight and cost, then you can get an adapter

Depends how finicky you are.

 

Id guess that brakes and their rotors were made to work better together, but im using avid rotors on my training wheels with Formula brakes and they dont givem me hassles.

 

Some rotors can be thicker so rubs against pads/caliper, beware of that.

 

Id say go with the adapters, should be allot cheaper than new rotors and you can always use your current ones again if you upgrade.
