So how does a week before an event affect you?

Here is what happened to me:

The week before the Babbas 31st October race I did an installation in Trichardt near Secunda.

Monday: Normal 8 - 5 day

Tuesday: Got up at 05:00. Trained LSD till 7. 08:00 till 18:00.

Wednesday: Same as above except I worked till 22:00.

Thursday: Could'nt get up for training. Worked from 08:00 till 22:00.

Friday: Did not train. Worked from 08:00 till 17:30. Drove back to Pta. Got home at 19:30

Saturday: rest

Sunday: 2h21 on the 70km. Felt like crap.

 

The week before the 7th of November race:

Monday: Got up at 06:00. Left home at 06:30. Arrived in Trichardt at 08:00. Worked till 04:15 Tuesday morning.

Tuesday. Woke up at 08:00. On site at 09:00. Worked till 17:00. Finsihed. Did a 40min run at about 19:00.

Wednesday: Worked from 08:00 till 13:00. Arrived home at 14:30. Trained on IDT for 60min

Thursday: Quite day at work. Nothing much happened. Trained for 60min on IDT

Friday: 2hrs work. During normal hours and did a service from 17:00 to 19:00 after hours. No training.

Saturday: 60min upperbody gym routine. And a lot of REST!

Sunday: 2h13 on the 70km! 8 minutes faster than the week before.
