There's plenty to do in CT.

Tokai: Anything from 10km to about 30km with varied difficulty. Quite a bit of climbing to get to the good stuff

Jonkershoek: Anything from 10km to 40km mostly easy to moderate difficulty. Some easy options around the plantation dam with short sections of ST. Big climbs on either side of the valley. Can get hot, so best time is early in the mornings

Tygerberg routes: Meerendal, Hillcrest, Nitida, Majick Forest (watch out for muggings here lately), Contermanskloof: Anything from 8km to 60km with varied degrees of difficulty. Contermanskloof and Hillcrest is moderate to technical with Majick Forest and Meerendal being easy to moderate. Nitida is very easy.

Delvera near Stellenbosch: 8km green loop, 12 km red loop or 15 km black loop. Moderate to technical. I haven't been out at delvera in 2 years. I think its time to do this again

Oak Valley near Grabouw: Anything from 12km (green route) to 30km (Red and black routes combined). Some of the best manicured ST in the Western Cape and not too much climbing if you are on the lazy side. Very few nasty sections and good for learning to ride ST.

Lebanon near Oak Valley: from 10km to 25km with good ST. A bit tougher than Oak Valley with more climbing involved. Stay at the Oak Lane Cottages on Lebanon farm and do Lebanon the one day and Oak Valley the next

Eselfontein near Ceres: This is where we are between Christmas and New Year. A group of us booked the guest cottage and we'll be ripping up the singletrack all day long. Anything from 8km to 70km with interesting training rides out to Matroosberg reserve and surrounds planned.

Much more, but here's enough riding to do something different everyday during the holiday.

Looking forward to esels bro :), Curlygirl and I did a "fun ride" at lebanon today Mixture of the Red, Blue and a smidge of the Green route. Man awesome awesome ST, and you can gun it FAAAAST! torn ligmaments in my hand all forgoten. But man climbing climbing and more climbing. Was worth it though.

Lets see if I can pull this off!

Are you guys flying?

Special bike bags?

Forget bike bags go to your LBS and just ask for a bike box, the ones they ship the new bikes in. Put your bike and that and whoopa. All sorted.

Since the fires and tree felling, the top end of the red route is very fast. Before it was a lot slower as you didn't have a good line of sight on where the track is going. Was doing Paarl Rock on Sunday. 900m of climbing in about 20km. It did mean 900m of decsent for the 20km going down.

Almost 2 hours climbing, and less than 20 minutes going down.

Tried the downhill track from the Taal monument. Some scary jumps, double jumps and drop-offs, but should be fun on the righht bike and full body armour. Now for that Morewood Makulu..
