Tax on cameras etc.

Anybody know if or what the tax is on electronic goods like cameras etc.

 

Want to order a Gopro HD off ebay. works out R1600 cheaper than getting it in . Probably more if include the fact that a big memory card is included

Think this has been discussed, but I have bought a iTouch, action bike cam, webcams etc and I only paid the normal 15% vat. No duties

You get the normal 14% VAT charged when it comes through duties plus a further 7% duty because electricals are classed as luxury items.

I buy most of my stuff through those three sites. Bring it in when I fly to SA.
