Van Gaalens - Nissan series ending

I unfortunately started in the G\H group which caused us to get to some watering points with no refreshments, the other points only had limited water, which was boiling hot from a swelter of a day (registered 47 degrees on my Polar). I understand Frits has an obligation to ensure these events are of top quality for our front runners to enable them to compete on the world stage, but he seems to forget the rest at the back end of the race who suffer the worst conditions around.

 

Looking at the results, the last person came in at 8Hr 17min, that's almost double my time and I was buggered at the end. Now that's a long day in the saddle!!!

 

Anyone else wish to share their experiences?

Although the ride was good I was VERY disappointed with the organisation. There was no water at the tables and when there was it was hot, also I never saw ANY medical assistance on the course and some of those so call single tracks down the hill could have been disaterous. It really felt like they just gave a guy a weed eater and said "make a path" I do not mind the technical but when you have to walk down a 2km hill cause the stuf is only (maybe) ridable by the top top guys I wasd disappointed.

 

I must saythere is alot of hype about these Nissen events and being my first I was not inmpressed - what about the quad bike making dust and riding WITHOUT A HELMET!
