I hate baggies, but atleast they wouldnt be stukkend.

Interesting concept here, how about some tougher lycra for mtb bibs ?

Ja, but wouldn't it become hooter if the lycra is made tougher? And if it gets wet it might take longer to dry out.

At Saturdays' Van Gaalen race I took a tumble on the loose stone, just as one turn right off the tarmac road.....I tore my brand new Bodyclone Giordana bibshorts   Also have a nice roastie on my bum....

Can anyone help or suggest someone that can help me to stich in a new panel?????

How the **** do you intend to stitch a new panel in your bum?

Hey Gerhard bad luck. Don't beat yourself up about the CRC buy though. You saved money.Even if you bought them locally I doubt someone would agree to stitch in a panel for you, or would they? It brings tears to your eyes, I know, but I guess that's racing. I only use my expensive bibs for road riding for that exact reason. Yes I know that if I hit the deck on tar, they are history, but I seem to wipeout more in the dirt....

I ripped a hole the size of a R5 coin in a new pair of BodyClone bibshorts in a fall last Dec at Killarney. Took them to Anatomic and they stitched a lycra patch over the hole. It is slightly noticeable, but well worth fixing up. I guess it depends how bad the damage is, but I don't see why it can't be fixed by a competent seamstress.

Thanks everyone, I'll give Anatomic a ring in JHB. Hope fully they'll stich up that hole.... ;)

Let us know if you come right. That will be worth a thumbs up.

Hey Guys, just an update.....I contacted both Cyclone Sportsware and Anatomic and neither of them want to assist me.....both said "if it was our product, would would have helped you".....seems like business is doing too well for them!!!! I am really prepared to pay a lot to get this torn Giordana Bodyclone bib stiched up, because it cost me a few bob....

Agh well, I will now just have to contact a local normal clothing manufacturing shop, purchase a piece of lycra and get one of there seemstresses to sow in a new panel!!!

I guess I got lucky with mine then. I guess you need to find a seamstress then. I took my shorts to the factory in Cape Town. The woman (I forget her name now) said come back in a few hours, which I did, and they fixed them up at no charge, despite me insisting on paying for the repair. This type of customer action buys them my vote  Some companies just suck at this ... take for instance the industry I work in; We supply the alarm installer trade with products. We sell a range of high-quality, long lasting alarm panel batteries for the price of a standard one. Upon asking a few of my customers why they were not buying these batteries, the overwhelming response was "why would we want to install something that will last a long time ??" Go figure ...

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Ripped a huge hole on the side/back of my Giordana Body Clones first time out and thought I would have to throw them away. However with nothing to loose I took them to my local taylor to ask if theres any chance he could sow them back together which he managed to do. So although they now dont look as cool they work as if they were new. Because the fabric is so stretchy, as long as you havent actually "lost" any of the fabric it can be pulled back together and stitched up. Good luck
