hit the nail on the head 1st time bud.

Swisstop Yellow are the ultimate. I use them all year round, on my carbon wheels and on Alu training wheels. In the rain on alu they are...not so good...but I doubt you will get a better pad.

On Carbon they are perfect.

Hi Tarmac, can you use the Yellow King's on alu rims, cause I change my pads every time I take my carbon wheels off. Was told this will increase the lifespan of the pads, and prevent any carbon damage in the event that some alu debri getting caught in the pad.

Thanks Tarmac! Reason I'm asking is that I did expect somewhat better stopping power than what I am experiencing with the swissstops.

How long does your pads last (approx)?

Have you ever worn through the bracking surface bump (lack of better word :) ) on a set of full carbon wheels?

+1 on the alu rims and changing pads??

I dont change pads for either surface although you may want a better wet pad on alu if you are planning on racing in the rain, that said mine have lasted very very long. I'd say 10 000km maybe more.

a full year and they are only just through the treaded part , maybe. still plenty of pad although you may argue that once the slits are gone you should replace them.

They will never be as good as the black pads on alu, even on carbon, but they are strong enough and definitely the best out there.

They make Zipp pads out of the same compound.

I dont "toe in" my pads I clamp them on to the surface and tighten them up, no sqealing and full contact for immediate force.

No! the surfaces should last for over 5-10 years - especially with the swissstop pads. they dont chow your rims

I must agree Swisstop yellow have lasted me for two years already and still plenty of mileage left.

Even helped me brake in time when I went left at a turn off this morning during a race and the rest of the group went right(the right way)
