We saw that the cycle park was advertising night riding on a Tuesday. So we phoned them up and they said that they have been advertising it, but no one has come to ride at night yet. So we said we were keen on going tonight and they said they would keep it open.

So if anyone is keen on some night riding tonight at the cycle park, come along, cos it will be open. We planning on leaving work a little early and riding into the night.

How much is flood lit? I imagine my lights will fall off with some of those drop offs etc... but I might be up for it if I can get off work early enough...

did they give u closing times?

Posted

well regular closing time is around 7pm, so I'd imagine they'd give riders atleast 2hrs on top of that.

I'll be there from 4ish this afternoon

Closing time is 8pm.

I have no idea about the floodlights, I assume not much is flood lit, considering this is the first time they are doing it. I may be wrong though

I was there dirt jumping late afternoon till about 18:30.

Some poor guy fell off the big bridge on Rollercoaster and broke his leg. I left at about 19:30 and it seems there were only about 3 night riders doing the rounds.

But yeah, I hope that guy is doing ok

Yeah... under normal circumstances it's a pretty easy trail. But this poor guys chain snapped as he was climbing, so he lost all momentum and pedal feel. Plus being clipped in... so yeah. Tough situation. Musta been scary as hell!

sheesh that is hectic, even the smaller 1s are quite intimidating when ur up there.

Not a nice situation to be in

I went off the side of one of the smaller ones! Luckily I landed well.

Took a Tumble into the weeds :D :P

but yeah that is lucky, recon u could do some bad impaling to your body if you come off wrong and in the wrong place.

First time I went over them I was in the completely wrong gear (typical roadie heavier gear) and almost came pipe, lesson learnt
