Following on from another thread, are others looking to use their Garmin during the EPIC and if so are you able to turn tracks off without losing ability to see speed and distance? what other options do we have - without going out and supporting Polar!

I understand the organisers not wanting us visting private farms but are they really going to check everyone's device to see who is tracking?

Thanks

I would think you need to use the cadence and speed sensor instead of the navigational option. How the orgs are going to enforce this i dont know as a cell phone with GPS ability stuck in your back pocket is able to record tracks

I used my Garminlast year with all the features on. They don't seem to check. I think if someone gets caught on the private land then they will enforce it much harder. I saw lots of guys with Garmins. Personaly I wouldn't worry too much. If you want to make 100% sure just send them a mail and see what their reply is. Just my 2c.
