Polar s725x and new speed sensors, do they work?

Hey Hubbers

I have a Polar s725x that works great on my road bike with its original "S Series" speed sensor. Like this

I recently recieved a Polar CS Speed sensor from a fellow Hubber and am battling to get it to work on my MTB.

If I place the wrist unit near to the sensor it seems to pickup and work, move the wrist unit to the bar and nothing!

Initially I thought that maybe the front shock was the issue so after trying a bit of this and a bit of that have determined the following:

1. S Series sensor rocks on both road bike and MTB bike

2. CS series sensor only works when watch is very close to it.

2.1 Eliminated faulty CS sensor or low battery by testing my wrist unit on my wifes road bike that sports a Polar CAD200 using a CS sensor. Same result, if the watch is very close to the sensor all good, on the bar, no good!

So I am correct in saying Polar 725x and CS sensor are not compatible?

OR

Is there a trick that I am missing?

Thanks in advance people.

Mike
