Stumpyrider Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I understand that you have to be able to show that you have done this as part of the Race Rules for the Epic. I have no problem with this and understand the rationale - but how is this done? I have played around in the menu, but this particular funtion escapes me. Can anybody help?
Minion Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 You can turn the GPS tracking off by going to Menu > Settings > System > GPS: GPS Off. Turn it on again by setting it to 'Normal'. This is the same process you follow if using it with an indoor trainer.

pezulu Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Going through the Owners Manual it seems that a tracklog is automatically created, which can then be saved as a .gpx file, which you can view in Mapsource.Even the Garmin Edge 500 creates a tracklog so they technically aren't allowed during the Epic either. The only way that the officials could possibly be satisfied is if the history was deleted after completion of the race. That would erase all the data gathered during the race though, including HR, Speed and Cadence.
