I've also been using gatorskins for ages and they are definitely more resistant to glass although if you ride over a nail or devil thorn then even they don't work.

Its also very important that you always pump your tires to the recommended pressure. The harder they are, the more resistant they are to glass, etc.

But even gatorskins wear down so make sure you replace them once you start getting regular punctures.

My strategy is to buy a new set of gatorskins every year at the argus expo. All the stores are in competition with each other and thus you can pick up some really good deals! I picked up a set last year for about R520.

I have used the Continental Gatorskins for years now and never had a problem, touch wood not even a puncture. Crown Cycles is selling them for R300, worth it all the way.

Agree with you anodised. Gaterskins is not your lightest you'll get. Trust me. I am a heavy guy and has done 4000km with a pair. And they are still good for the trainer. These tyres are really bulletproof. Just don't ride them too soft. You might get sidewall problems with it. I pump mine ate least

7 Bar. Over the past 4000km's I can remember not more that 5 punctures. And that was all thorn realated.
