Addidas Kanadia TR 3 trail running shoes

Hi all

 

I am wanting to do some trail running and have been looking at the following pair of Addidas Kanadia TR 3 trail running shoes, have any of you multi-sport boys and girls been using these?

 

I have no idea what to really look for selecting a shoe as I am new/starting with the whole trail running thing.

 

My intentions would be typical trail running and a couple of adventure races with the intention of doing the Xterra next year.

 

I do know that I don't want to drop 1.3K on a pair of running shoes for a sport I might not take to, so the budget here is a consideration

 

Any advice would be appreciated.
