Hey hubbers J man here. I have a pinnr 2009 which has a Marzocchi 66 RCV, 180 mm travel fork but as most people know this bike weighs a ton. I wanted to shave some kg off by putting on a BOXXER fork. Im not to sure if this will give me the desired result but im willing to trry anything. The main thing i wanted to know is that is i were to sell my fork and buy a Boxxer fork(new or second hand) would it be worth it. My final question is would i need new hubs or headsethow much would that set me back. I would like to sell my current fork and what ever else needs to be sold in the hope that i might break even. All you bike nerds out there please give me your ideas on my current predicament. my bike has Sealed bearing 20mm thru axle hubs!! HELP ME!!!!

kind regards J man

Put this under DH and Freeride.

(And maybe edit out the term 'bike nerds', you are speaking to MTBikers, not Roadies. Roadies think a Boxxer is Muhammad Ali!)

And have a look at the Boxxer I am selling while you are at it.

havent seen the specs but would the zocchi not be lighter than the RS.

I would think the Boxxer has a 20mm thru axle which should work with your wheels.

Got a Boxxer on my Corsair Crown...they are 2008 world cup Boxxers and I cant complain, Lighter than my mate's Fox 40's, but way less of a pain in the arse to maintain....older marzocchi's (the made in Italy ones) are good, they are pretty much bullet proof so the weight is not so much of an issue...i'd run888's just for their strength and bomb proof-ness, boxxer's (not so much) and 40's (in particular) require a lot of attention and servicing whereas, for example, my boss run's 888's on his chumba and he has not serviced or touched them in more than two years...(in fact, he wrecked his frame and had to replace it but the 888's were hundreds!!)
