  1. If you going to buy "new" then you should find out a bit about the after sales service. I have a Scott Spark 960 (2022 so pretty much current) and love the bike. Developed a crack on the chainstay and fortunately still covered by warranty. But still waiting more than two months for replacement and no luck getting and information from Scott SA.
  2. Good luck with this. I'm trying to find out from Scott why taking more than two months to sort out a warranty claim and not getting response.
  3. I'm taking my Scott Spark 960 (2022) in for assessing as it has developed a crack on chainstay. See attached pic. Not sure what Scott's reception is going to be like so also considering the options. 1.New chainstay (rear triangle). Will look more closely at warranty details and conditions. 2.New frame purchase. ditto 1. 3.New bike. ditto 1. 4.Get the area welded. Regarding the last option, I will need to find a place or person who can do this reliably on the East Rand. Any ideas? Cheers
  4. Thank you. I think going the way of running housing all the way and seems to be working fine.
  5. I've done this but without filing the stop off.
  6. I developed a problem when cable to the rear derailleur came out of the cable stop/guide on the chainstay of my Bianchi road bike. Scouting around on the internet it appears that there is a specific ferrule required to fit into the cable stop. It is a stepped ferrule. Not entirely sure what the step down is from and to as there seem to be a variety of options or opinions. Can these ferrules be sourced locally?
  7. Got the FH-MT410-B freehub on my Scott Spark 960 2022. I took off the cranks to replace the BB and also put an oval ring on. Now when I pt the wheel back on and tighten the thru axle, it seems like the chain stays are squeezed closer together and the wheel doesnt spin the tighter it gets. When the wheel is not on and the thru axle is tightened, this does not happen. Any ideas?
  8. I currently ride MTB but keen to get into a bit of road. Just a bit so really looking at low cost. Looking around, it is evident that I can get more value buying a previously owned road bike. I am about 189 cm tall. I ride a Scott XL MTB. Another consideration may be that I am mid 60's age. Would I be looking at 58 cm frame size for a road bike? Also, at price point I'm looking at, there are a lot more rim brake models available and alluminium frames. I dont have a problem with either of those points unless someone can persuade me otherwise. Thanks
  9. Trying to track down and join these groups but not having much luck.
  10. Hello All. Any MTB trails/rides around Malelane Mpumulanga? Wondering if worth my while taking the bike along for a long weekend.
