  1. My trusty Garmin Fenix won't turn on, and the soft reboot doesn't seem to work. Navworld used to be around for repairs but they appear to have closed their doors. Anyone else who does Garmin repairs in Cape Town? Thanks
  2. Have recently heard that normal riding at Paul Cluver, Elgin is no longer possible. Only on guided tours and sometimes special events/ races. Any idea why?
  3. Definitely join FastTracks. I belive they have about 4000 members which is huge. I've been riding Baakens every time I visit pe from CT and I'm always amazed. We did a about a combo of 40 kms over 2 rides as week and feel there are about 20 km more to do still. Crossways can be 60 to 80 kms and I think you can even ride to Jeffeys Bay from there.
  4. Speak to the guys at Robbie Bike Concepts about arranging some rides. Was in pe last week. Really great trails
  5. Lots of amazing riding in PE. The Baakens Valley is incredible and the Crossways farm is next level!
  6. RBC or Robbie Bike Concepts in Port Elizabeth. The specialist suspension wizards are the best in the biz. Top notch service and smarts from the guys. Robbie services forks and shocks from all the around the country, he knows suspension! He helped me dial my bike in when I met him on the trails. Always happy to help
  7. Definately Lyne! It's a no-brainer
  8. Had my paws on this early on in the R n D stage, I knew it was a winner from Dayle and the team from Lyne.
  9. In Lyne, i trust! Dayle is the most knowledgeable and helpful bike dude I know.
  10. Apologies. Hope no one got offended
  11. Haha. Thats why i used a plural, not singular.
  12. Lyne all the way!!!! Ive owned 3 on all my bikes..
  13. Im amazed everytime I drive thru CBD Cape Town or if im cycling along Clifton to Lladudno.. Cyclists without helmets, wearing earphones and even riding against the traffic. People with zero sense of common, and self preservation. Boggles the mind...
  14. Id love an E bike... will you buy me one? Pretty please
  15. Good point Piston ZA.. Dayle at Lyne has it figured out... he even 3D printed me a coverplate to cover a recess while removing the trek bar and stem.. Give him a call
  16. quite easy really... its my second bike to have the same carbon bar I removed a brand new bar and stem from my 1 week old bike, to upgrade to Lynes carbon bar and stem.. Cause my new bike didnt feel complete untill it did...
  17. I think I read some stats saying South Africans are the 3rd or 4th most miserable/complaining people in the world. This thread just proves those stats correct. haha #getalife/rideabike/anyfuckingbike
  18. Just had a lekker upgrade to my Trek Fuel EX. Dayle at LYNE fitted a new 35 stem and 760 carbon bar... Looks soooo good. Amping to get out on the (dusty) trails for a little fun. Always great to deal with enthusiastic and smart dudes...
  19. Went to the pre-launch party last night of The Holy Rail... Incredible innovative new product.. So many variations of it where you can accesorize, 2 water bottles, and a toolkit to clip on, or 1 water bottle, a toolkit and a robust tool bag for example. Very cool stuff!! I heard from the manager of one of Giant shops today that this will be the first time you could fit 2 water bottles on a Giant mtb frame..
  20. Been thinking about slapping a set of these hoops on for sometime.. mmm they look great.. Have dealt with these guys for a year or so.. exceptional service and backup
  21. Ive used Lyne droppers to carbon bars to oval chain rings. Always had best service, advice, and reliability from these local guys.. Would remove a Reverb for a Lyne in a heartbeat
  22. Been watching this thread with some amusement... Coming from a totally different sport, It amazes me how critical, judgemental and brassy cylists are compared to some other sports... Baggies vs Lycra Specialized vs other brands 29ers vs other sizes blah blah blah etc Ive started to enjoy the tech side of the sport, trying to understand bits and bobs of geometry of bikes, gear ratios, suspension etc This e-bike debate is pointless and a waste of energy... Ride what you want to ride Dont ride what you dont want ps the Specialized Levo i demo-ed recently thanks to the guys at Revolution Cycles was incredible, fun, and playful.. Got a great sweat, workout, and sure, lots of KOMS, and PBS, naturally.. which i then erased... So get over yourself if you a) believe an E-bike is the same as a motorbike, and b) some dude beats you up the hill
  23. and? how does the bike feel? pros and cons? what was it?
