  1. Most of the guys that entered received a mail, postponing to another date still to be confirmed
  2. I have Specialized Roval DT Swiss Carbon wheels. I agree that its preference
  3. Ok, i prob missed a few discussions on this topic, but what is people view? For both options i will either need to get a Microslpine Hub, or XD driver for the Sram... I like Shimano...but people say stay away??
  4. My insurance stated as long as im not riding a pro, not getting paid to race, bikes will be covered in races.
  5. I had a fall on my mtb, and cracked frameat my back pivot bearing. As i told the the bike shop i fell, they said i must use my insurance, as im not covered under warranty for that. So i put a claim in, after about 2-3 weeks, they came back to me, and stated that it can be repaired, and they going that way. I had letter from the manufacturer stating that it would not be a good idea, on that specific spot, they went on and said they will. So i rejected and and had to cancell the claim. Im with them for 6 years+ now, have all my bikes, helmets, gear etc specified.
  6. Howdy Hubbers, What insurance is the best to have for your bikes?? I had Indequity, and when i had a problem now, it was a 3 x months battle just to get nothing!!!!!
  7. I must say, im looking at getting the Sunrace setup, as its cheap and Sunrace is on the market for years on end. WOuld like to hear how its going after a week, 2 weeks and so forth. The front blade dilemma, is a bit each to their own. Why do u want top end? How fast do u want to go on top end? I have a 34 oval on my bike, 1 x 11, with the Sunrace 10-46 on, and it works great for me. Even if im going 50, im going to stay on 34. Im doing 34km/h avg on that gearing easy, and even can do a 45km/h on flats. Yes flats u can go higher and spin, but how many flats are there really, depending on where you ride. Depends on your riding style, where you ride, what you ride etc. Test all and choose the best option
  8. What about the Cannondales? Im sirting with the same dilemma, looking at bikes to buy. I have an Epic and races like a demon. And then a 650fatty Fuze, which my 11yr old daughter stole from me. What i dont like about the Scott is the after service. I had the Scott910 bfore, went through 4 frames, and on the 5th i sold it as is, brand new from the uppliers. And every time it was weeks of waiting and fighting. So i dont know how their service is now a days. Spez i broke 2 x frames, but no questions asked, i got a loan bike, and by the folllowing week, i had my new frame and rebuild. But nobody is asking/talking about the Cannondale. Is it not worth the trails or so? A friend of mine said its also quite good.
  9. Hallo, I moved down from JHB to Somerset West, and dying to ride in this awesome place MTB. Are there any groups, clubs people riding? During the day? Whenever? Any help please. Im a bit unfit, with the moving, work, packing etc, but im sure ill get my fitness up quick.
  10. Def Armin Van Buuren, State of Trance episodes. Mix of all music. If u want to push hard, go for that. Free to download on his site
  11. awesome mix. Have u tried the new ones. They on 816 allready..it will blow ur mind
  12. Have u ;ppked at the Specialized Stumpjumper 650B ? Im looking at this bike also just for trails etc. I have a Specialised WC, for racing. Moving to Stellies, just need a Trail bike...
  13. That is what i was thinking...but the bikes i can get is at really good prices...well so they say...
  14. Thanx. They said hardtail is a bit hard for the trails though...but used my bike for the Transcape, Epic, Joberg2C and Pioneer last year, and managed all place to ride, even fell down the cliff on Pioneer and my bike didnt break...lol I just wanna climb on a bike, and go ride lets say 100km or if it be 25km on the trails, and not to worry about, oh **** wrong bike cant go ride there and there...
  15. That was what i said. then they said the Stumpjumer 2017 Comp Carbon, have boost. 28mm wide rims which allows for the wheel to sit wider, and can fir my 650 fatty wheels on it. Best of both worlds. They say can ride the epic with the Stumpy, although i wont try
  16. Cash, wont finance a bike...so need to save for the right bike
  17. Howdy Hubbers, Need help guys, bikes and poeple having too many diffrent stories. We moving to Somerset West in December, and everybody tells me i need a bike for the trails. I have a Specialized WC at the moment, a Spez Fuse 650fatty. Will the WC work, or not? I want something that will work, but a lot of people states that im going to break by bike, need more travel, etc. So looking at the Stumpjumper or Cannondale? The pros dont ride stumpies in Stellies and surroundings? HELP PLEASE.
  18. I have checked the entries a week ago, and not a lot of people riding the race? Why? Any ideas?
  19. Got a Scott Spark 910, got it in April 2013. Other than that, thats the only issues...
  20. I AGREE, MY BIKE GETS SERVICED AT A GOOD LBS, AND THEY REPLACED THE BB. THE BB PULLS OUT OFF THE FRAME AND THEN U CAN PUSH IT BACK BY HAND, WHICH IS NOT CORRECT... YES PIVOTS IS IMPORTANT, AND I DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MINE, RODE IT FOR A YEAR ON SAME BEARINGS, CHANGED IT A MONTH BEFORE J2C
  21. they didnt have shocks when shocks bombed out after MONTH OR SO HAVING THE BIKE, SO THEY REPLACED THE FRAME WITH BACK SHOCK...
  22. Just wondering how many people have problems with the Scott Sparks. I had problems with the shocks, rear and front. The BB gets worn out, in other words the frame wears out. Its a awesome bike, and rides like a dream. Scott have exchanged my frame x 3 times, with no issues, and the 4th one is on the way. Whats the hubs thoughts? Shocks stuffed again, but is it worth it to put Rp23 with CTD on and front schock with CTD to remove lockout lever(broke 2 and ist pricey to replace)

  24. We are having too many cyclists affected by road accidents. Roadies, MTB's whatever in silent protest and to raise awareness. I know there are a lot of proposals for Burry memorial rides, but let's follow the right procedures and get official approvals. This event has been approved and rubber stamped to ensure safety and max exposure because we want to send out a message. We will finalise the route and safety plans this week on Wednesday. We are going big. Netcare and ER24 as well as Emergency Services, Fire Engines, Traffic Department are on board. We now need the pro riders and the masses. The support is huge. Spread the word... The event will start in the Park next to Key West Mall at 08h00, 12 January 2013. The route starts at Key West, down Viljoen and right onto Paardekraal; left onto Coronation; left onto Main Reef; left onto Barret; left onto Voortrekker and back to Key West (13km). From there the longer route continues up Cecil Knight; left onto Robert Broom; right onto Sterkfontein Road down the hill; right onto Sterkfontein Caves road; left onto Rhino & Lion Park Road; right onto Kloofzicht Road; right onto Avianto road (30km).
