  1. Breedt's is pretty much undriveable, so you don't see many people once you're on the climb. That being said, it's a lot busier than you would think. I've done Breedt's in mid-winter, and drizzle, and have always had fellow cyclists meet along the way. I come from the farm stall side, and come down into Hekpoort - I think Hekpoort is definitely the busier of the two, but also more built up.
  2. A lot of this took place
  3. Yes, it seems there was some confusion between poorly marked routes on the 65km, and the old "follow the leader". Many of the 65km participants ended up never leaving the Northern Farm grounds. I did the 40km, which was a nice route. The profile indicated two water points, and there ended up only being 1 (at approx 13km's), then 27km's of nothing. Organizers claim they're only required to have one every 25km's, but poor form if you've advertised the second one. We obviously plan refuels according to WP's, so I was riding with guys who had run out of water at 30km's, and still had 10km's to go. Also, water points were exactly that, water points - lukewarm water. No coke/sweets/potatoes etc. Last year's event was pretty cool - I don't recall the same issues. Anyways, I agree, doubtful that it'll be sold out again next time.
  4. We all think we won't be able to live without them, until we do, and now I wonder how I ever lived with them! All the best to everyone giving it up! Allan Carr's Easy-way helped me to change my perspective on smoking and what I thought it did for me.
  5. Do you ride the area often? I did Magalies Monster in 2018, and would like to know how much of those tracks are accessible? I might tackle Breedsnek, and then head along the tar road towards ATKV Buffelspoort and try find the single-track that runs along that road?
  6. How was it? Might be up in 2 weeks.
  7. Hi Milosh I'm wondering if Breedtsnek was ever in great condition?! Haven't ridden it in a few months, but its a pretty robust road. Far side of summer rains though, so I'd watch out for sudden wash-away's.
