Event Name: Masgcor Cederberg 2-day MTB Trek When: 6 April 2019 - 7 April 2019 Where: Yellow Aloe, Clanwilliam, Western Cape Category: MTB The Masgcor Cederberg 2-day MTB Trek will take riders from Clanwilliam to Nuwerust in the heart of the Cederberg on Day 1, and back to Clanwilliam on Day 2. Riders and their supporters will be camping at Nuwerust, with all meals, camping, tent, mattress included in the entry fee. This route is suitable for MTBs, gravel bikes and e-bikes if you like to have it a bit easier. Early bird entries are open until 30 September 2018 - enter at a lower fee, BUT also stand a chance to win your entire entry fee back! Go to Event Page

Event Name: Masgcor Cederberg100Miler 1-day Race When: 7 April 2019 Where: Yellow Aloe, Clanwilliam, Western Cape Category: MTB Riders on the Masgcor Cederberg100Miler Race will tackle a circular route from Clanwilliam, over Pakhuys Pass, through the remote mission villages of Heunigvlei, Wupperthal and Eselbank, before reaching Kromrivier, Pakhuys Pass and heading back to Clanwilliam. Get ready for a proper, but most beautiful challenge over 160km and 3 000m elevation. The route is not suitable for gravel bikes. Early bird entries are open until 30 September 2018, and early birds get their entry at a discounted fee, BUT also stand a chance to win back the entire entry fee! Go to Event Page

Event Name: Olympic Dirty Double When: 25 August 2018 Where: Doolhof Wine Estate, Wellington, Western Cape Category: Multisport Super-fun event involving a trail run BEFORE you get onto your mountain bike! There are two routes to choose from: short course (8km trail run - 20km MTB) or long course (15km trail run - 35km MTB). And if you are not up to doing both disciplines, bring a mate for a relay.   4. Hi guys & gals! The Wild Boar Trails will unfortunately be closed over the weekend of 18 & 19 August 2018 - the Nissan Trailseeker MTB & Trail Run is taking place in Wellington.
  5. Yes, you can ride any day of the week. The trail centre will be open on Saturdays, and Public Holidays (from 8h00). On the other days, you can buy a permit using the Snapscan code on the door of the centre. Annual permit holders and Tygerberg MTB members may use the trails without buying a day permit.

  11. The 2019 Cederberg100Miler will take place on 6-7 April. The 1-day Race will start with Pakhuys Pass (21km tar and 1 000m ascent). From here it will be mostly jeep track and gravel road though Heuningvlei, Wupperthal. Eselbank and Kromrivier. After the 100km mark it will be mostly district road back to Clanwilliam. This is definitely a mountain bike route and not a gravel bike route.

  13. The route will not be gravel or district roads only. There will also be some jeep track. We did a scout recently and will post some pics and a breakdown of the route shortly.

What are your thoughts on the 2019 Cederberg100Miler Race doing a circular route: Clanwilliam, Pakhuys Pass, Heuningvlei, Wupperthal, Eselbank, Matjiesrivier, Kromrivier, Algeria and back to Clanwilliam? The same distance (160km) and climbing (3000m) as the current format Clanwilliam to Kaleo.

  16. We will either confirm from entered athletes prior to the event (via email) or require this information upon riders collecting their race numbers and goody bags.
  17. Jean would have bagged both prizes. We are looking at prize money of (at least) R100 per gravel bike entry, so the more gravel bike riders the bigger the prize money.
  18. It is official: there will be a gravel bike category. Jean de Villiers got an excellent 2nd place overall (only minutes behind legend Erik Kleinhans) on his gravel bike on the 2017 event.
