  1. Step 1... don't post the route map on your website before the big announcement
  2. site works for me.. googled route map 2018 and got http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/Site/design/dowloads/routemap.pdf Edit: this link now shows the old map again
  3. So what does everyone think of the new reversed route? The start is going to be tough with Steyn City and Cedar, but the finish will be FAST once you turn onto Summit routemap.pdf
  4. Just out of interest.... So how would one get a vote of no confidence against CSA if we wanted to? They have embarresed the country by screwing up SA National Champs and by screwing up Stage 2 of Tour of SA Surely as a paying member (Licence holder) you can call for a vote of no confidence in the current board? PS.. im not saying I could do a better job, but surely there are people that could do a better job of what has happened today!
  5. Nope I cannot.. just tried... Only been doing 1 particular sport (spinning and cycling) for past 2 years, not over 35... -10 years from there still Was really cruising on the FastOne when it got sore again, so dont think its a spinning to fast problem, was riding with my dad and did just over 4hr30, so wasnt like we where pushing it Could be.. will need to check my style when I get back to SA next week Friday and see if it could be this I was off for an entire month and she said 3-4 weeks, so did give it a chance.. Going to see a specialist sports physio when i get home, instead of just the regular one i used last time
  6. So last year after hard training for the 94.7 (Supercow - 2 Laps) I went off overseas for work for 3 weeks after the race for work.. with no cycling at all First ride back after a full month of being off the bike, my calf muscle got really sore during the ride, and was painful to finish the ride... went to the Physio who gave me the diagnosis of a Grade 2 Calf Strain and I should rest it for a month.. Did another couple trips to the north.. brrr and left my calf for 1 month, entered fast one and from about 30km it became painful again (not as painful as before).. did a Club Ride the next saturday where it got extremly painful and now its still sore, 4 days later.. any idea's on how i can get rid of this calf strain?!? Its really screwing up my cycling.. in away on business for another 2 weeks, wanted to do the Berg and Dale race, but im thinking its a bad idea with this calf muscle that keeps acting up.. Lemme know if you have any thoughts..
  7. was reading an article on why flashing is banned in UK... it has to do with studies, that the flashing light actually attracted drunk drivers and they tended to follow the flashing, rather then steering clear of them
  8. Yeh.. connect.garmin.com Did a ride today, garmin said average 19.3.. got home and checked weather station and it said 19.3
  9. Riding as a cow this year was the most amazing experience, and would highly recommend it to anyone, rockstar status on the route with everyone supporting the CHOC Cows, you can feel like death and every-time you pass a spectator they lift your spirits for you (specially helpful while dying on a 2nd lap) Feniks, you will not regret it, its really awesome As said by another cow (WhuYu), wasnt intentional to be "rude" but more for the safety of the other rides on the route, i played around on the ice cream bike at expo and childrens cycle race and almost rolled them, they are not easy to control! Our RTT sponsored ice cream had a nasty accident on Jan smuts, last report that he is ok in hospital, but has a couple of broken bones (including colar bone) I was just behind them on my 2nd loop on the N14 and they managed to revive the TIBCO ice cream bike (with no front brakes for the rest of the ride), the amazing thing is that it was powered by one of our Apocalyptic cows who had finished his first lap in 2:45 and then rushed through again to take over his ice cream bike! The support out there was amazing for the cows, I'll never be able to ride the 94.7 as a non cow, its really a special experience and thanks for all the on route support!
  10. Gaps between start groups where increased by 1 minute due to congestion in the finish line. This spreads the gaps and eases the congestion. which group are you in this year and what group last year?
  11. 5:45AM start time Starting with the Double Loop Charity group (riding SUPACOW for CHOC)
  12. your welcome managed to pick up about 30 of the buggers... didnt see any on sunday when we went through there on the bikes, so hopefully we got the majority of them, and hopefully it doesnt happen again... even though im pretty sure that whoever did it, will do it again The frightining thing of it, was that it was ONLY in the cycle lanes and all of them pointed up, nothing in the road at all, and hidden in the shady area's aswell, they planned it very well
