  1. Cool Rae should be fun, The number of technical sections that a trail bike will benefit you is not that many compared to the number of miles you climb and ride on the flat, so definitely a XC with like 120mm travel is norm these days, tire choice is a bigger issue!
  2. Single entry available, contact me - SOLD
  3. Yes, doing a mixed team
  4. Looking forward to following this, please add as many pics as possible!!
  5. Yes, will be there - what ratio you gonna ride?
  6. Will be coming back from MTN Hilton, so will have to miss this in my back yard...!
  7. Best i have right now of split top, can just see it behind the stem
  8. Custom Ti frame i had made has duel top tube, PF30, no sliders maybe next time and some other small tweaks
  9. My new frame and setup, loving it. training back wheel but have a matching black
  10. How easy is it to get some 650B or 27.5 rims and tyres in SA?
  11. Been slowly started racing my SS at most of the races but since i am new maybe there are some riders out there that have done some of these race and can help with the gear selection for the specific ride?? Marathons: Nissan 70km: # Down and Dirty: used a 17 but could have gone 16 or 15 # Diamond rush: using a 17 this weekend # Hazeldean: 16 or 17 # Teak place: 17 or 18 MTN 75km: # Baberton: have heard i should use a 20?? # Crater Cruise: go 40/16 maybe and walk the climb?? # Hilton 50 miler: 18? # Sabie: 20? # Clarens: 20? # Attekwas: 20? XC Lap racing: # Phambili: 18 or 19 # Fountains: 18 or 19 # Rietvlei: ?? # ..... Other: # ....
  12. Why not? and you get to choose all the good parts that work for you!!
  13. Anybody know of any custom frame builders in SA, steel, alu or Carbon - mtb and road!?!? Or local courses one can do to learn!?!?
  14. Anybody got some idea how to get a Rock Shox Monarch 4.2 new on bike to staop leaking, very slowly over extended period of time from little pump nosle on top by the look of things??
  15. Been riding with the Elite Carbon for more than a year now and not bad at all the standard pads they come with are not great but changed those when required and made a big diff. Other potential problem is the little plungers in the levers get sticky, so when you pull the lever it does not jump back, little oil spray and all good, could be the dry dusty conditions in JHB and washes in the wet season. But apart from that good, brakes no other problems
