  1. Hi there. I do appreciate the inputs. I've been looking on FB and taking the advice of the other gentlemen. I do not wish to ask money from anyone. I'm in Pretoria. I don't think I even mentioned that. I think maybe there are some folks with connections or know of where I can buy. Thank you SO SO MUCH!!
  2. Hi there I am looking to help 2 people out. Unfortunately I don't have much to work with. The first is a boy of 14, about 1.68m tall. He needs a bicycle to get to a from school. About 8kms x 2 distance per day. The second is a cleaner at work. Very diligent. Walks almost 2 hours to work every day and 2 hours back home. I thought to help him out with a bicycle would reduce the time spend getting to and from work. I have been looking for 29ers but have either just missed it @about R1500 to R1800. I need help to find bikes. Maybe one this week and another by the end of the month. I also thought maybe I can sell my bike and buy the bikes with that money. I have a Titan Nova 2018 29er medium frame. It is worth about R6500. I can sell it for R5000 and get two new Raleighs from Makro. Can anyone help me find bikes? In the past I used to build up bikes to give away, but two were stolen during 2021 and 2022, so I do not have much left. Thank you. Mike
  3. HI GUYS. Funny that I had a similar experience at Cycle Lab and CW is associated with CL. I called in to ask if they had stock on a specific disk rotor. The guy helping me checked and gave me the amount of stock they had in store and the price. So I left the shop I was in to go to CL just to get that rotor on my way home. When I got to the till, they rang it up on a higher price and when I told the lady at the counter it was wrong, she just ignored me three times.
  4. Good morning guys. Thank you again for your offers. I by chance saw someone at the bikeshop who was looking for cheap wheels to build a bike for his son. And since I have been struggling to get all the parts I needed, I decided to give him the wheels I had. I was able to complete another bike that needed a fork and brakes that I had. I gave that one away on my birthday 3 weeks ago. I think I'm done for now. Maybe I'll try again in 2020, but honestly it has been a bit stressful and cost me quite a bit. Again, thank you very much for your kind hearts.
  5. Hi Dexter-morgan Thank you for you response. I can sure use a handle bar. If you want to get rid of the 7 speed shifter/brakes, I can take it. I don't have application for it at this stage, but it might come in handy soon. Thank you. Regards Michael
  6. Hi guys. Wow thank you for the replies. I am in Pretoria. Meyerspark. Just seeing replies makes me feel so overwhelmed. So sorry I forgot to say where I am from. Hi Theo That is almost a full bike. Awesome. I can buy the brakes and ask my local shop to install them. I would love to take it on as a project. I think I would then be able to give the bike away by the end of the month! Where are you based. I will come pick it up? Regards Michael
  7. Hi Last year I received a Bike for my 7-yr old son, which made me think about giving away bikes for others in need of one. I had a mountain bike that belonged to my eldest son, 18, who did not ride anymore. So I found a schoolboy who had to travel to school to give it to. Long story short. I wanted to do this again. So I gathered parts from friends. I have rear mechs and cassettes and a 26" wheel set and a 26" shock, 29" tires and mismatched pedals and some other parts. Hoping to build a bike from the unwanted parts of others. I got another bike together and a boy in our suburb took it out on a trail with me last weekend. I would like to build a bike for a friend though. He has been an amazing support to others although he earns mere peanuts. I was wondering if any of you have a similar desire and would like to build a bike or give away some parts to help me build a bike. He is 176 cm tall. I guess a medium to large frame would suit him well. I was hoping to build a 29er. If you are able to, please let me know. Thank you. Regards Michael
  8. Good morning folks. I need some help please? I just bought the Ryder Elite Dual MTB pedals. I got the setup good and I'm testing my very first clipless experience. It feels strange. I can get clipped in, but it struggles to get out. I set the tension to it's minimum, so that I can also lift up to get out. That is a bit annoying, because it comes out too easily. Nonetheless, I tried the twist to the outside to release and I have to move a lot. My foot goes almost 40 degrees to get out, but when I twist to the inside, I release very easily. I don't mind twisting to the inside, but when you fall, you tend to want to move you foot to the outside and not the inside. How do I get the release to be the same toward the outside as it is toward the inside. I have not increased the tightness to see if that affects the release to the outside. I switched the cleats from one shoe to the other as well. Thank you good people.
  9. Hi I went to visit them. The bikes look ok. They give a 1 year guarantee on the frame, but the components have no support. I can't say what quality these branded Shimano components are, but it seems good for the price. I'm still looking around and asking around - I don't actually know anything, so I ask cyclists. I think you should go visit and ask questions. I want to ask them for a booklet though. I forgot that. Mike
