  1. We used Go Cycle (https://go-cycle.co.za) in Somerset West for our kit for last year’s DC and were very impressed. Great quality, great price and fast turnaround time. Andreas is also very knowledgable and helpful, nice guy to work with.

Unfortunately the same happened to me🫤 Boa was very quick to respond and send out my replacement boa with DHL, but now it is stuck at the post office, with a tracking number that does not seem to work. I am also looking for advice on how to expedite and get it through the system if anyone has any options please!
  3. Dont know..Could be tight. I dont ride with dropper so not sure, the cage I used is very stiff so sure bottle will stick in cage but not sure if bottle cage will touch the back wheel This is the only photo I could find now to show how it looks installed I also saw some guys with bottle cages mounted to their forks when we did ATP.. maybe I missed this phenomena but it was a first for me!

You get attachments that you can fix to saddle rails that can fit one or two bottles behind the saddle (think tri bike type setup but works on mtb as well) I actually have one of them lying around if he is interested you welcome to contact me Bit dirty in the photos sorry 🙈 last time I used it was Around the snotpot
  5. No experience with the Magene but have a Varia and like most Garmins it works flawlessly. Has given me a lot of confidence on the road and can’t imagine riding on the road without it anymore. I went for a long ride today and forgot to charge the battery, so it died halfway in the ride and I just realised again how this device has changed my mindset and safety on the road I now even ride relatively confidentently on narrow roads with no shoulders which are not too busy - I can ride in the lane and just move to the edge as soon as the radar warns me of an oncoming car
  6. Thanks for all inputs, mechanical then seems to be the better option On this topic, out of interest has anyone upgraded an older generation di2 10speed to 11speed? It seems “all” that is required is upgrading the RD and FD with 11speed di2 components (and maybe firmware upgrade).   7. 6800.. good point (also not new tech) I would personally not consider 10speed mechanical groupsets anymore, but I cant afford 11 speed electronic. So my thinking is that with 10 speed electronic shifting one may actually not notice the jump in gears so much because of the smoother shifting (especially if on a narrower casette like a 11-25 or 28).

Hi all What is the general feeling and experience older generation electronic shifting? with the new 105 12 speed di2 that has just been released the older 10 speed components just gets more and more ancient (and hopefully more affordable..) by the day, but due to budget and availability would a bike with 2x10 speed ultegra di2 still be a good purchase, or would I be better off to stick to mechanical 2x11 ultegra, considering the 2x10 di2 bike and 2x11 ultegra bike is of similar value? Inputs opinions and experience (especially practical experience of anyone using 2x10 di2) would be much appreciated thanks
  9. Courier guy is very effective and efficient, nice online system that is easy to use but depending on the size of the box can be R800 - R1200 excluding insurance. They are excellent I use them for other courier services as well. Depending on where you are based, Cyclelab can also assist with packing and courier the bike at very reasonable price, I used them a while ago and they asked R150 for boxing and R500 for courier (with delivery to home/work address does not need to go to another cyclelab) which I though was very reasonable
  10. Thanks for the replies - I am maybe a bit slow but what did you drill out, the hub body/flanges to convert the hub to accept a 15mm thru axle? I am thinking if still using a 12mm thru axle and keeping the hub as is and only altering the frame, eg I need to reduce the frame’s threaded holes from 15 to 12mm Please help me right if I am misunderstanding, I dont really care if I have to use 12 or 15mm thru axle, would prefer to use 15 so would like to understand what you guys altered thanks!
  11. Thanks for the advice i must admit the hub adapter option did not cross my mind. It is novatec hubs but as most things these day I assume stock may be an issue, but will investigate if there are adapters available The engineering route may be the quickest and most cost effective, thanks for the idea
  12. Afternoon I have a set of old carbon wheels that I want to use to convert my mountain bike for faster marathon gravel riding (eg only riding sinkplaatpad etc so no gnarly terrain). The fork on mountain bike and current wheels are 15mm thru axle but the wheels I want to install has a 12mm thru axle hub. The answer to me seems obvious that one should be able to use a reducer on the fork to be able to accept a 12mm thru axle. youtube seems to indicate it is something that exists but my searches trying to find this in SA has not delivered much. Has anyone does this and any advice on where to find such reducers or conversion "shim"? Thanks in advance
