  1. I am running 2x9 with 27/42 and 11-34 on my Niner - works for me. It is a Middleburn Duo crankset with 180mm cranks.
  2. Check out a summary of Johan's description on chain wear here - http://mtbexchange.net/questions/49/when-do-i-need-to-change-my-chain
  3. Had an idea to put up a Google Map showing places where incidents took place (with some details) as well as areas to be avoided. The idea would be that anyone could add an incident onto the map (may need some moderation). It would be something like this vehicle accident report site in New Zealand - http://goo.gl/yYjn Is there anything like this already in place? Do you think it is worthwhile?
  4. This lists above look pretty comprehensive, there are however two things that I feel are essential. Liquid hand sanitizer (pocket size) Liquid sunlight soap I picked up a stomach bug doing Epic this year and the most likely cause was hand-to-mouth transmission of bugs so the pocket-size hand sanitizer (available at Dischem or any pharmacy) is essential, use it all the time when you are in the camp. Sunlight soap to properly clean your bottles - this is another cause of stomach problems. There is another good list here.
