He is in Laingsburg tonight - heading to De Doorn tomorrow...arrival in C.T. 11 April - so if anyone interested in joining him for his last stretch to the V&A Waterfront - let know - I'll send details. To BigH - I'll dream with you... I also wish that each and every bicycle sold comes with reflector accessories etc. And that the purchaser either produces their helmet..and if not...a helmet goes with the bike. No helmet - No ride. But you know what guys/dolls - just by starting this conversation today - I KNOW I've made a difference today! A small gesture...but geez - it feels good. ASTANA - sorry to say this to you...but sometimes it's the little things in life that make us feel proud that we've done something...you should try it sometime

I understand your negativity towards SA with the latest developments in the news - however - you just said it yourself..."Cycling/road safety lies with them" - SCARY THOUGHT - ALL THE MORE REASON why we as a cycling community have to DO something about it. Cause if we don't - no-one else is going to. I hope ASTANA that one day you don't have to say "I wish someone would do something...I've just lost a friend/relative who was out cycling" I'm saddened that you don't feel our cause is worth supporting

hey slowpoke...followed thread..gets quite heated i see. 2 wrongs don't always make a right. Tolerance is needed from both sides. And more awareness does need to be created. Somebody has to start somewhere. Thanks for ur support of the cause. Being a mother & wife with cycling prevalent in my household - I can't just sit back and do nothing about my family's safety out there. Cycling is the "new golf" and more attention needs to be paid. If all 35 000 cyclist who participate in the Argus stood together with ONE voice...we will be heard. EVEN IF ONLY ONE LIFE IS SAVED through this campaign...it's worth it. It could be any one us!

I can't understand this. There is a guy riding his butt off from Jhb to CT for the National Cyclist Safety & Memorial Ride...to help raise funds to create awareness of cyclist safety and in memory of those who have lost their lives. Yesterdays ride from Beaufort West to Leeu Gamka was to honor Adam Reyneke who was killed while training. Come on cycling community. Where is your support? We all get up in arms when something happens to one of our own...yet we don't support the people who are trying to make a difference.
