Exactly what my bikeshop told me - also thought you don't get different parts. Thanks all - you helped a lot!

Ok, so a lot of you will propably laugh at my question, but here goes anyway. Apart for the frame; wheels and fork (obviously), is it possible to take your 26'er parts to build on a 29'er frame, or do you get specific groupsets for 26'ers and 29'ers??

The "normal" route was much more ridable (for me) than the "langs baviaans". I had much more fun this year and didn't climb of my bike once (except at the checkpoints and through the deep waters) Langs Baviaans was a very very big physical challenge!! But both was a experience I'll never forget.

Hey Sampie. Ek dink nogsteeds dis daai "Espresso Love" GU gel wat Skollie my ingejaag het!!

Dit was awesome!!!! Verlede jaar die riller van 'n Langs Baviaans gedoen en ons tyd hierdie jaar met 4h30min verbeter!! Totale tyd van 15h41min. Dis seker die mooiste stukke natuurskoon in SA - net jammer dit het donker geword en ons kon nie alles sien nie! Is omtrent 57 keer deur water, maar dit was nie so erg soos wat ek gedink het nie! Ek dink die water het actually die bene goed gedoen. Ek was ook heel verbaas dat die sopnat voete nooit so erg koud gekry het nie. Dit was wel koud, maar my voete het al kouer gekry as dit. Die organiseerders was weereens tops en alles was in my oe perfek! Dankie almal vir 'n wonderlike avontuur en belewenis!! Alles te danke aan 'n lekker span met baie gees. Was wonderlik om dit alles met my man te kon deel!!

Nou dat jy op die topic is - watter sokkies pak julle in? Dis eerste van my wat koudkry!! Het gehoor van die sealskinz sokkies wat "waterdig" is, maar is dit die geld werd? Enige raad vir sokkies sal help, of moet ek maar weer Spar sakke om die voete draai?

Very good description Nancy! Last year was my first one! Wish I can do the real thing this year. It took us about 4hours to get out of "suicide gorge" (as we call it) If only checkpoint 3 was on the top of the climb. Anyway, I hope and pray that it will be the old route this year.

Please just put a black stripe over my face on the pic where I fell in the sand!!! When I see sand and a photographer - I know a fall is coming!

The wind wasn't my friend on this race! Did the 60, but felt more like a 80. Except for the wind - it was a beautiful race and venue and enjoyed it very much. Well done to the organisers - great work!! Think there was a lot of marshals on the road, because of all the distances - thanks everybody - well marked. Will defnetely be back next year! It was sommer lekker!!
