  1. Just thought I'd pitch in here, apologies for the thread necromancy. I considered three packs recently: Salomon Raid Revo 15, Camelbak Mule and the Dakine Enduro. - If I had the money I'd buy the Camelbak but it was unfortunately way over my budget. - I liked the Dakine but after reading a comment about it's capacity in another thread I was loathe to order it from a website before actually having seen it. - The Salomon turned out to be the perfect compromise for me in terms of price and features. It doesn't look quite as roomy as the Mule and it's bladder is probably inferior to the Mule's as well but it's a good option if you're on a tight budget. I couldn't find some of the other packs mentioned in this thread (like the Dunlop) so I can't claim that these are the only three worth considering. Sportmans' Warehouse do sell their own brand of hydration pack but I was underwhelmed with what you get for the price they ask. vanmartin2007-05-25 02:53:36
  2. Okay, Sweatsafe got back to me on diving related accidents and this is what they had to say - they'd cover the emergency evacuation and any hospital related costs as a result of the accident but would not cover the cost of the hyperbaric chamber itself which is fair enough. vanmartin2007-05-23 08:58:55
  3. I should've noticed that before, I tend to ignore banner advertising.
  4. CWC, I probably missed it somewhere, what is the address of your online store?
  5. I'm waiting for a consultant from sweatsafe to get back to me on the diving question. Will post his answer as soon as I receive the feedback.
  6. Reading through the exclusions I came across this. The Insurerer shall not be liable to pay compensation for any claim directly or indirectly consequent upon: .... 5. the bodily injury being caused by or contributed to or arising from nuclear weapons, material, ionising radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from combustion of nuclear fuel sustained during the course of such Insured person?s employment. For the purpose of this exclusion only, combustion shall include any self-sustaining process of nuclear fission. Hard luck Spiderman. vanmartin2007-05-22 02:11:22
  7. I did a few searches through the fine print but couldn't spot any obvious exclusions or inclusions. I'm joining anyway, it would just be an added bonus to know I'm covered for diving as well. vanmartin2007-05-22 02:05:33
  8. Thanks for the link, I've been meaning to join for quite a while but forgot about it eventually. Does anyone know whether diving related accidents would be covered (i.e. decompression sickness)? You usually need a chopper evacuation when that happens.
  9. Hog, we're gonna need some pictures of your new pride and joy
  10. Hog, if you ever feel like coming for a ride with fellow novices in the Centurion area then please drop me a PM.
  11. I would actually prefer discs' date=' but in my price range I'll only get mech discs. I'm still considering pushing my budget, but I've actually already pushed it from 3k to 4k. Plus I'm budgeting R1,5k for Helmet, shoes and pedals - which is also a big factor. Maybe it's time to sell the girlfriends car... [/quote'] Now you're thinking! To give you an idea of what helmet, shoes, pedals and cycling shorts (can't forget those!) would put you back, this is roughly what I paid: - Bell Ukon helmet: R380 - Olympic cleated shoes: R550 - Shimano cleated pedals : R280 - Anatomic free ride shorts: R300 vanmartin2007-05-15 10:06:34
  12. It might be useful to list the components (front & rear derailer, brakes, shocks) for the bikes you're seriously considering and get the hubbers to comment on that, it might help you in your decision making.
