Sorry only saw your post now. It's between 50KM before a race, otherwise 70KM however sometimes a extra bit is added to make it 100, the other option is 120 or so via Parys. But it is usually sorted out at the start point. PM me your number and I'll get you added to a group chat.

There's a group usually starting at 6am from the parking lot of the Vanderbijlpark CrossFit, usually 70km-100km+ rides... usually 30KPH averages... Yep very cool, a bit tricky as my first ride on the mtb in a few months, but simple enough for a first timer to do it, very different to the rest of the route which is awesome.

I've never travelled via the route so can't give advice on it, however the only way to be sure is to try it yourself...

I wouldn't count on people helping. Obviously get some lights and a ICE id bracelet just incase.

I would go "big" and get the Bianchi... solid bike and set up!

The break away was 2:50 something, while the chasing bunch caught me at just under 3 hours, well i was passed by 8 riders somehow while I only counted like 3, but there as a fair number of riders so I didnt see if they were all Bs or not. The 2 "older" gents were both placed in B on their numbers, so nothing dodgy I think

Ahhhh sorry assumed you meant the break, the group behind the break came in fast and thick though!

No one caught the first group of BL, they finished 3 men if I'm right, I went with them on the first hill, sadly blew up 2:30h in, I was only caught by the other BLs 1km from the finish Good ride, and good weather luckily!

MTB Hein, maybe pop by vanderbijlpark cycles they may be able to help out, usually there's a few roadies that MTB there too

Glad he's "alright" didn't look too good when I went past. I'm surprised the driver didn't think of the mirror hitting someone or thing
