  1. Hey Hubbers working on a budget. If anyone has any 27.5 tubeless ready tyres lying around please drop me a pm.
  2. Hey hubbers Struggling to source this - any suggestions https://www.giantbikespares.com/Giant-Derailleur-Hanger-GS8346-for-Thru-Axle-142-x-12mm--Black--1280GS834609B1_G1/product_detail/3-42169
  3. That is a beaut, is it a hard tail or gravel bike conversion?
  4. Thinking something in terms of this as a final look if I marry the two bikes together
  5. Hey Hubbers Ive been mulling in my head throwing my two bikes together. I have a Momsen R355 (https://momsenbikes.com/2020-archive/r355-one/) and Giant Anthem Advanced 1 27.5 (https://99spokes.com/en/bikes/giant/2016/anthem-advanced-27.5-1), the idea came about after I chucked the Giant Carbon wheelset across to great effect, so now my thoughts are going to the 100mm Fox Factory 32 Fork, would it even be be compatible with the Momsen Frame? Ive been playing around with the idea of riding Sani2C on my gravel, but have been advised not ideal so wondering if I throw the fork across that I might get sort of best of both worlds.
  6. Anything at Tranquilitas self or the surrounds, from their website it looks like they have 6-7 trails of which we can take on 3-4. So anything in the area even district gravel road options would be nice?
  7. Good day Hubbers We are going for SANI2C training weekend, looking for leke routes (gpx files if you have) for us to take on. Nothing to technical please looking to do alot of elevation. Thanks
  8. Hey Hubbers Im partaking in the Bull ride, anyone know the route and conditions (we had alot of rain in Jozi) so not sure of PTA? In two minds between the gravel bike and mtb, so just looking for some advise on best setup.
  9. Was leke loved the extra confort and stability through the rougher stuff, although was running a heavy profile 2.3 spez purgatory tire, I think with more XC orientated 2.2 it will fly.
  10. Final product Sprocket and Jack sorted me with the hub end plugs. Taking it out tomorrow for a first spin. Remarkably was able to still comfortably get the 2.3 tires in.
  11. Thanks my thought process exactly, and it appear the frame can even push 2.2 for extra cushion. In the pic I had 2.35 on and other than front rubbing on the fender there was leke space in the fork. Have a sleeker profile 2.25 I want to throw on for a test having end caps being made today
  12. Considering throwing my Giant Anthems 650B carbon wheels on my Momsen. Whats your thoughts on running 650B on a gravel bike setup - pros/cons? One thing it does make the bike look bit*%ching.
  13. Bump, hope hubbers returning from holiday can assist
  14. A quick revive anyone where I can source this locally?
  15. Good day Hubbers I threw my anthem carbon 27.5 wheelset on my gravel bike, everything is compatible so far other than front hub being 15mm thru axle and my bike being 12 mm. I saw the following product https://www.velofuze.com/thru-axle/15mm-thru-axle-adapter-to-12mm-thru-axle/ can any recommend it or something similar? Do they work? Not damage the hub? Lastly anyone know where to source it locally? Thanks and happy new year
  16. Reviving a old thread anyone in Jozi who can assist with 3dprinting at a reasonable rate please pm me
  17. Appreciate the advise, Im not really racing so going for the expierence and the views, so agree use the bike I have available
  18. Good day Hubbers, Got an opportunity to go to do Sani2C next year. I currently ride a gravel bike (Momsen R355) anyone else complete this race on a gravel bike, and what is your experience of it?
  19. Good day Hubbers, anyone know where to get cheap gopro accesories (China Market etc) in Johannesburg. I bought a cheap gopro 4 for R600 but the housing etc. that I have been able to source is almost as much as the camera, I'm just mucking about so not wanting to invest alot. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  20. Good day Hubbers Please advise on the current condition of the trails, I read somewhere recently they had a bit of damage after storms. Further please advise if the trails are gravel bike friendly? Which trails (green, blue etc.) would you suggest for someone riding a gravel bike? Thanks
  21. Interesting idea, I know my frame has routing for it if I am correct, will keep an eye out on the hub for options. I assume a dropper makes downhills alot less scary.
  22. Momsen R355 One (https://momsenbikes.com/2020-archive/r355-one/). Absolutely in love with the colour scheme, also conveniently colour matches my current bikepacking bags. As with my previous Norco Revolver, gona now start doing small upgrades here and there to suit my needs, for now only upgraded the tires Maxxis Rambler 45c, and stuck my carbon aerobars on. Next item I rate will be a carbon / suspension seatpost
  23. Joined the dark side, sold the MTB and I have to say I'm very pleasantly suprised.
  24. Good day Hubbers, I am aware of the saying that the best bike for bikepacking is the bike you own, but having done a few excursions it appears that not all bikes are created equally for the task. I noted from my excursions that the gents that rode with me on the gravel bikes were having a much easier time of it with the mixed riding (road/gravel etc.). Any thoughts on this? Here is a picture of my current rig, would you hang on to same or dive into the gravel bike scene - considering I can only afford one proper bike at a time.
