Hi - we will post something this weekend but unofficially, we have to give way to an event that has not previously had CSA sanctioning.

We would love to step into the void however previous experience has shown us that events held over the holiday period are not well attended at all. Previous races we've been lucky if we get 100 participants. Add to this the reluctance of the various traffic departments to give us permission due to the increased volumes of traffic on the public roads and we're a bit stymied. However, let's have a look at this going forward. It's a bit too late this year as event applications need to be in 3 months in advance. As an aside, the Winter League is a Western Province initiative, not Myriad Events, although we are the people who organise and run the races for them.

Event Name: Tour de Worcester Road RaceWhen: 10/09/2023Where: Nuy, Western CapeCategory: RoadThe Tour de Worcester is an iconic race of long standing. We have 2 distances to please everyone. A challenging 140km which starts in the Nuy Valley and heads out to Rawsonville before returning and looping around the Nuy Valley a couple of times. Then we have an 86km race that misses out on the loops. Event Name: Lady Loch - WP Winter League When: 14 June 2020 Where: Lady Loch, Western Cape Category: Road A perennial favourite of the cyclists - Lady Loch. This year with a bit of a twist. Cyclists head out on a large loop to Hermon on the R46 and over Botmaskloof Pass before heading back to do some smaller circuits around Lady Loch. Event Name: Red Hill When: 19 April 2020 Where: Perdekloof Padstal, Western Cape Category: Road A tough circuit around Simonstown. Starting at the Perdekloof Padstal at the base of Red Hill, the 30km circuit tests the climbing legs of participants. Category 1 will do this loop 3 times while the others will do it twice. Event Name: Bon Mella - WPCA Autumn League #1 When: 5 April 2020 Where: Bon Mella, Western Cape Category: Road The first race of the WPCA Autumn League. 93km loop starting in Adderley Street, Durbanville, and heading out past the Silos, Fruit Sellers, R44, then past Perdeberg Cellars to the Malmesbury Road and back to Adderley Street. Event Name: Slent Road - Team Time Trial When: 22 March 2020 Where: Slent Road, Western Cape Category: Road Slent Road TTT is for teams of 6 riders and takes place over a distance of 60km. Event Name: Century City Criterium When: 1 March 2020 Where: Century City, Western Cape Category: Road The annual criterium race hosted by Century City as part of their Sports Week. This race has become the season opener for the WPCA league over the past few years. Races are time based with Category 1 racing for 60 minutes plus one lap of the 1,6km loop.
