  1. I might have to, but the bigger frame sizes will not have to.
  2. The rims are light but Mongoose chose to build the wheels with Straight Guage Spokes ( ) .... rest of the build is Ringle Hubs, Alloy nipples ... I have a set of ZTR Race 7000's arriving next week. Problem solved!
  3. Yes, wheels are available locally - pls pm me for details. First batch are sold out but I know of dealers who have stock
  4. Yes, plan was to use the wheels off the Mongoose but they turned out heavier than my current TEK XCR wheels. The TEK wheels are 1530g, white powdercoated rims, bladed aero spokes and trick RED nipples to match all the red going on with the frame - so it was a no-brainer. Hoping to get a set of the new ZTR Race 7000 wheels as soon as they land in SA!!!! 1,21kg and next step in tubeless wheel technology!
  5. Besides, I really like my Fat Tracks waterbottle
  6. OH My GOOOOOOGLE' date=' REMOVE THAT CAGE FROM THERE. I thought you had taste. You should have gone with black housing or even red i-link cousing. [/quote'] Cage - a necessary evil! Medium , Large, X-large frames come with Bottle Cage mounts in the front triangle - smaller frames have to go with the bottom of the Downtube ... Option 2 is the Seatpost mounted type which I hope to get soon. Besides, nothing wrong with using a hydration pack for the longer rides! This is the start, I have plans for phase 2 .....
  7. Ready for action - worked out at 10.8kg with pedals/cage etc.
  8. I agree - for guys like HOG! here are some more pics:
  9. Final bits just arrived - build can now be completed!!!
  10. Excellent, my friends from BikeRadar are a day late but that is fine .... Will post pics shortly - still missing an FD but should arrive today. Then it's fitting some cables and we are set! Can't wait!
  11. and now for the ridemonkey.com quote of the year: looks flexy. This is one bike I think they should be very careful about saying that with .... first production mtb to have the 92mm threadless Shimano XTR bb wider bb allows for increased width on the lower pivots for increased rigidity ( read: no flex ) lower link houses 8 bearings rear triangle is a one piece unit that eliminates any pivots at the dropout ....
  12. Tks. 29ers will be available from October onwards if you want?
  13. Bragging rights on the hub?
  14. It arrived yesterday afternoon
  15. Got some of the parts ready for the build. 3 saddle options but will most likely go for the WTB Rocket V - that C130 Carbon Prologo saddle is just too hard!
  16. Pics pls!!!!!
  17. Ellsworth? New Santa? Ellsworth - no carbon? New Santa Claus - good guess, but don't think the new Blur LT is 4"? Frame arrives today ....
  18. Available in all sizes from about Oct 08 onwards ......
  19. Nope ... Hint: it's Alloy ... with Carbon bits ....
  20. Valid point and agree. But that is the challenge .... to build a sub 10kg that is still rideable and raceable.
