  1. Hi Reinhart Thanks but I can't do earlier than 6h45 as need to drop my son at school before I can ride. But I'm determined to find a way to do this safely, particularly now that I've replaced my bike and got wheels again. I had to have surgery last week so out of action until end of March but then want to cycle. May just take a chance. Sure will be others on the trail about 7h00. Ciao
  2. Thanks guys. Sounds good! Now I just need to find a replacement bike after mine was stolen (inside locked garage, chained to pillar) in January. Looking for 29 / dual suspension and checking the ads daily. Do you ride back in the afternoons? need to get to Newlands latest 4.30pm
  3. Thanks. Anyone want to commute from Newlands to CBD Tuesdays and Thursdays? Maybe more often if works out efficiently. Mornings leaving Newlands about 7.15am (need to check how long ride from SACS school onto path). Leaving CBD 4pm (again must check how long from office to path).
  4. Hi, want to take the mountain route to work every day - Newlands to CBD 7h00 and home about 16h00 - is that risky on my own? Claire
  5. Hi, just moved to Cape Town and like to commute Newlands to CBD along mountain at 7am. Is that safe on my own? will I see other riders? Just had my Scott Spark stolen (from garage) so wary of losing another bike! Any info appreciated

Hi I'm a journalist and go mountain biking on weekends. I'm doing a brief story on popularity of mountain biking, whether it's increasing and why people do it. Any comments welcome - but most won't get in as limited word count. Thanks
