All I'm saying as that to call what the shops did "a mistake" is as far from the truth as anything. I mean, ringing up two energy gels on the cash register instead of one is a mistake. Knowingly colluding in order to fix prices and therefore secure margins on your products is just plain rubbish. What's more or less the average speed of the slow group vs fast group, pretty sure i'd belong in the slow one but was just wanting to check.

Looks easier than it actually is Was out there on Saturday and probably some of the best singletrack climbing around. Does anyone know how many metres of vertical ascent it is from the start to just before the last climb to the radio masts??

I bought myself a Silverback Phoenix about a month ago for R5,500. The only problem i had until now was a puncture. The bike is really solid and I'm not sorry at all about the purchase. I did quite a bit of shopping around and component wise its probably the best value for money at that level. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks guys, Ive entered for the 85km at Knysna, should be a baptism of fire (i believe it is in fact only 75km) but if not why not? Ill be doing either the Napier or Gansbaai 60km before then as well. Have only done a couple of 30km races this year so far. Luckily I only work till 12h30 on Fridays so i cant get 3 long rides in over the weekend if i really want to.

How many hours a week do you reckon I should be doing to be OK over the three days? Just looking to finish.

Hi guys, im reasonably new to mountain biking and was wondering if anybody can give me some advice as to which races to look into if i am considering possiby doing some stage races. I'd appreciate your insights. Cheers
