So while it seems that everyone is always asking about moving to CT, i've decided to make the move northwards to JHB. Ill be working around the Meyerton area and was wondering if anyone has some input as to which suburbs will be ok to rent a place in for the first year or so. I was considering living in either alberton / glenvista. Or perhaps living more south in Vanderbijlpark as i also enjoy the odd paddle on the river. Does anyone know what Emfuleni golf estate is like? And most importantly, are there any trails around???? Thanks guys.

Thats nothing, i have a 1:45 for the 25km MTB race 1:30 actual) and i didn't even wear my chip as i rode with a friend who's starting mtb'ing and i didnt want the time to affect my seeding. Maybe i have a chip implant somewhere...

So after starting cycling last year i decided to celebrate my loss of 15kg in 10 months by getting myself a new steed. Bought the Merida 120 800D today for what i think is a very good price (R13,600). The only thing remaining is the decision whether to hang onto the HT for sentimental reasons or to sell is and do a conversion to tubeless on the merida.....

i've given up looking for them..

Does anyone with experience of the race have some tips on riding the race? This will be my first, longest MTB race before this was Seweweekspoort 80km and I did Hell and Back and Oudtshoorn 3 day last year, how does this race compare? Im thinking i might be a bit underprepared... what is cutoff time on each stage?

I'll have to go tubeless when i go full sus, i dont want to spend any more on the Hardtail and i don't have the cash at the moment, so slime and liners it will be.

I think it's very incosiderate of this guy to predict the end of the world 3 months before i hope to do my first Trans Baviaans... Will ask Amarider if they can at least have the 100miler before then..
