  1. There is no from derailleur, voodoo I say!
  2. Ah ok, saw that topic. Then I should prob look there instead of asking here of the up and down sides of that.
  3. Hi, Don't find much info on this, is there an official name for this kind of setup, do you use the same rear derailleur...?
  4. It's been years since Ive been on my bike. Had to sell my MTB but kept my road bike. The long holiday from cycling is because of many reasons but mainly because of hip trouble. Now that I have had a complete hip replacement 8 weeks ago I am fast on the way to good recovery. My Polar watch tour de France limited edition needs a new battery and if I recall, the HRM game my hassles as well. With technology that has progressed so much over the years, I'm considering just using my phone. So the question is: what is suggested for sensors for my phone, cadence, HRM, speed (although speed is probably not needed with GPS?) My phone is android based. And are there recommended phone case/holders, as mentioned, road cycling. I have to stress that money is now a mojor factor. All the best
  5. Hi A friend and I are planning to embark on a slightly different journey to cycling fashion for a change and need a 'human cart'. Think they call it a paddy as well. These are fairly expensive and not common in SA at all. After much consideration, I am going to build them. My biggest issue is the wheels: To make it more efficient and less complicated, Lefty Hubs is what I am going to need to use. I have searched the net and they dont seem all that common. SO, the questions are: 1.) Can you rebuild a normal rim on a Lefty Hub? 2.) Who would be the cheaper manufacturer, where can I get them? 3.) What can I expect to pay for the bottom-range ones (money would mainly be why we are building our own) 4.) Where can I get exact measurements OR technical drawings of the 'shaft', the bit that the Hub clips on too? I will need to turn this out and fit it to the frame, usually part of the shock. Many thank-you's!!
  6. I think those Sylverbacks are good value for money. I have a roady Montaray (spel?) and my wife a Reno hardtail.
  7. Sorry 1 hill you are the one I meant Who else Yes, I would like to join for the ride... Is there something I'm missing?
  8. JA! Count me in!! I have not seen many hubbers in flesh, would like to meet some.
  9. We did a trip through Europe in June, my one travel buddy got his bike stolen in Amsterdam the day before the trip actually started. We ran out of time and was forced to buy a CUBE second hand from one of the shops, 10 000ZAR's later... XT through out, dont know the model but I can tell you that the bike was much lighter than my Merida! Heres what we found, when we received the bike from the shop it was in SERIOUS need of a full service but we did not have the time. Then continued to put 3200km's on before returning to SA. The bike handled the tour just fine! and we hit some fairly 5h!tty terrain. I like the bike. Although the disc pads cost him in the region of R500 to replace, dont think they are standard here but he got it never the less. SlickSticker2008-07-24 03:30:18

  12. Sjoe, dis n warrem yster daai ene!
  13. hmmm, nice post boys, het self gewonder oor hierdie topic. Is dit net geldig vir road cleats of kry mens MTB cleats wat fixed EN floating is?
  14. June 2008 I will be doing a 3000km tour... Bike-budget is tight with all the other expenses involved, SO, what I am looking for a light bike for fairly light price. Keep the figure of R5000-R6000 in mind. Hardtail and lockout is a must, above that, anything more is a bonus. Any suggestions?
  15. True what Holly Roller said. You puncture the bomb and then pin seals the bomb again so turn it back a bit. Not sure if its been mentioned (6 pages of posts to read is a lot this time of night) but use your shirt or something to hold the bomb at deflation cause cold hands like those would only be good if you are holding a beer.
