  1. I was in the group that caught the league and luckily was just in front of the crash. When we caught the league at slangkop the just tucked in behind and got sucked along and as soon as we got to smits they found legs. The poor guy that hit the motorbike had nowhere to go other than over the white line. It started with a league guy late breaking into the corner and loosing it landing himself in the gutter the group swelled and unfortunately the guys on the outside were forced over the white line they were not passing or anything like that they were just trying to avoid the 1st accident. The bike Marshall's are brilliant and in Olympic cycles race 2 weeks ago one of the cedar guys hit the bike marshall while doing an overtaking maneuver that got him ..... No where.PPA and the league organizers are to blame for this accident . Why should we endanger our lives to teach the development riders to ride.i hope everyone envolved in the crash is ok as I heard that some one got a broken neck who went down.
  2. I did the 50km the single track was great but just battle to find a nice flow to the course maybe that was just me on the day. What really pisses me off is that it was really expensive compared to other races on the mtb calendar and they still have not put the times up. On the marshal side I saw loads and I think we went through 3 water points so no complaints there.
  3. I used stans tape and spec fast track tires.
  4. Call Paul at olympic Im sure you could get one for 26k , myself and my mate are collecting ours today. I was shocked when I weighed the bike before thge tubeless conversion and it came in at 11.7kg a fair amount lighter than the other brands. As for the STD wheels they were not that heavy 1.8kg so you will spend about 6k to loose about 200g
  5. How is this for cute if I go Anthem then my self and the other 2 mates I ride with will all be on identical bikes, we could swap from time to time, maybe the wifes to!!!!
  6. I am in same boat which one to buy, price and spec is not an issue I just want the one that handles the best down hill road the GF and it handled like a pig down hill then road Anthem and was brilliant, so need to retest the GF and hoping I can get the handling and set up right or it will have to be the seroiusly ugly silver anthem.
  7. I am currently on a Trek Ex9 that is built up way higher specked than standard (26") today I took it for one last ride before going to buy a Fisher 29er, I tested one in Dec and although I found it really skittish and slow down hill I decided that up hill and flats are were time is made up. My mate just got an Anthem 29er so I took it for a little ride and it was unreal extremely fast down hill and handled better than my 26". So now Im really screwed on what to do I am a massive Trek Fan and hate the silver bling of the Anthem but you cant get around how well it rides I am praying that the Fisher was not set up well and am now having to retest the Fisher. Has anyone tested both and found one to be light years ahead of the other brands aside.
  8. Listen to your body I have Pneumonia after Knysna and 2 weeks later I still not even thinking about riding Doc recons it can take up to 3 months to be totally over any chest type illness
