  1. All good questions - this is definitely a road (so, not through a farm). At least one of the dogs has been seen jumping the 2m fence and the other seemed to have a side "exit" from the farm, through the trees and into the road. I definitely didn't stop to ask the farmer - but I did discuss doing it with my friend for the next 50km ride The sheep are in the field where the dogs are guarding - so they are definitely protecting their turf, but they think that cyclists are a danger to their sheep and homes. One of the reasons for posting here was to try and discover if anyone HAD been bitten - despite Facebook and Bikehub comments - I haven't gotten any sense that they have made contact with their teeth - just that they very scarily chase / herd and bark at us.
  2. You don't have a GPS / Strava route for the two options you mention, do you?
  3. Fully agree! I just had to explain why I burst out laughing in a Teams Call! Basically, had coffee spurt out my nose!
  4. Yip! Uphill - at about 35km an hour on a MTB.. I'll be champ soon! part of me wonders if it is the chase, part of me is scared to test the theory ๐Ÿ˜„ Interestingly, NO-ONE I have spoken to has said they know the dogs and "have been bitten" so you may be right.
  5. I am a huge dog lover, but genuinely felt like my life was on the line - so I would protect myself if I had to. These two dogs tend to literally herd and "hunt" us, and according to another friend, it's not the first time Some form of spray might be an option as long as I don't spray myself in the process! ๐Ÿ˜
  6. Hi all, So, looking for some advice (or commiseration). Last weekend a friend of mine and I rode the 105km mini-munge route (out the back end of Magalies, past the Spar, parallel to railway line and onto big gravel road). About 3km into the big sand road, we were chased by 2 big dogs - potentially European sheep dogs / similar guard dogs. It was petrifying and had it not been for my husband who was seconding in a vehicle - I am actually not sure how it would have ended. Couple of questions: 1) Anyone else had this issue and have any advice on how two ladies are supposed to deal with these dogs (or I suppose other chaser dogs in general), who are clearly able to scale a fence and take their sheep guarding duty very seriously 2) Any alternative roads that can give a similar resultant distance and climbing - as aside from these "human-eating beasts", it's actually a nice route Appreciate the input!
  7. Hi, Does it have to be a hard-tail? I have a size small Pyga 650B (called the One-Twenty) - that I have been considering selling for ages. It's obviously a full build rather than a frame - but if it's something you would like to consider, let me know!
  8. Hi all, I am looking to assist my sister in-law in bringing in a bicycle from Aus (which may well not go back to Aus). I COULD fly with it myself, or perhaps an unaccompanied luggage. Any recommendations / ideas / things to be aware of? Thank you!!
  9. Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. I have also entered in Jan, am a bit nervous about implications of curfew / C-19. I have mailed them as well. I don't know what the right answer is. It's very far to drive to get pulled half way through - especially for my first one!
  10. Thanks for the response! It's when I am actually trying to log on. My other windows machine connects and the MAC doesn't. I am starting to suspect the poor Mac needs an upgrade, it's a new problem, since I upgraded the OS on the machine.
  11. Sorry - this is a duplicate of a post in another thread that I posted this morning - but I think I might get more help here.... Struggling with ZWIFT on my Mac - is this happening to anyone else?? Hi all, Looking for some advice here please. I am trying to use Zwift on my Mac. Most recently, almost every second day, I am getting an "Internet Connection error - ZLM04". It ONLY happens on my Mac - I have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked the internet connection, changed the Wifi that the mac connects to. If I try to connect on the same wifi through my Android phone or Apple - no issues. Please can someone give me some troubleshooting advice. I am about to throw the Mac, or the Zwift out the window as I can't keep fighting with tech at 6:00am just to get a ride in Thanking you all!
