  1. Funny, also having some knee problems after some moderate riding and never had before. I've asked around and the consensus is that I may have an alignment problem and that it is not bike set-up. You need to go to someone that specializes in this who may give you a wedge to use. I haven't done it, but everyone swears by it. If your saddle is too low, your knee will hurt at the bottom. If it is above or on the side, it can't be the saddle. Also check your cleats. The play may be too much, especially if you use Crankbrothers.
  2. Jonkershoek, Lebanon, Tokai........just go and enjoy. You can worry about training later.
  3. I think so too. These guys are even more excited than I am! First time I've found a bike shop in Jhb that I'm comfortable with. Originally from the Cape and have been struggling with finding that 'personal touch'. With these guys you'll definitely get it.
  4. Thanks for all the replies guys. In the end I've found a bike shop where they're still passionate about these kind of things. I'll report back once it's done and show pics.
  5. So after 8 months of research and patient buying I've collected all the parts for my new lightweight hardtail. But now I've got to get it build, as I'm not a techie myself. Can anyone recommend a good, independent person living in Gauteng that would be able to build for me. I would prefer not to take to a bike shop as most of the components are non-standard (tune, extralite, nokon etc.) I also have my doubts as to whether a bike shop will do this as I have all the parts already and there is no margin in it for them. For interest sake, when all is said and done, the bike should come in at 7.7kg
