  1. Either you accept the offer or not. Something is only worth what someone is willing to sell it for/ pay for it. Simple economics. If you get lowballed and don’t agree then don’t sell & carry on with your day. I have never done any business with BM so no comment there, but they also carry the risk that they will need to spend money on your “excellent condition bike” till they need to replace the groupset. I have paid asking many times trying to be the good guy and been burnt with needing to spend another 5-15k to get things replaced to the condition I expected. It’s all relative.
  2. Sorry to hear about that, hope you get some recourse! Good case for using bikehub payments 🙏
  3. Just completed my STR build! super stoked with how she came out

    Bike Fit

Thanks for the replies, so i went to Gear Change for some help this morning, they were super accommodating and inserted a shim in the dropper (Lost 20mm on the dropper) and the height is perfect! it was a 250 rand odd excursion. So super happy! i would like shorter cranks eventually, but for now the height is spot on and i can ride! will post pics of the build, im super stoked.

Howzit hubbers! So I’ve just finished up my hardtail build, but… I took her for a spin around the block yesterday and definitely a bit of a stretch between the dropper and my pedals (just too large for me) for reference it’s got 175mm crank arms and a 150mm dropper (seatpost as far down as possible) what’s my best course of action here? Shorter cranks , maybe 160mm or so I get a shorter 125 mm dropper? Or do I need to do both 🤦‍♂️
  7. this looks tasty...
  8. Ive had one, in a more aggressive setup, but for a rigid build for now i didnt enjoy it. (Had it setup as a rigid in the beginning) the geos didnt work comfortable for me unfortunately. In a full trail bike trim it was epic, i agree. If i build another pure trail bike ill definitely get another one.
  9. Still on the lookout 👀
  10. Howzit all! so haven't cycled in a while due to injury, but I'm looking for a frame. Not much out there at the moment, but looking for a steel XC/downcountry type frame to build on, i have everything else ready to be fitted, just no frame. Rapide are too aggressive for what i need so thinking more niner/ momsen STR29/STF/ Kona/ salsa etc. I'm running a carbon rigid fork, but will switch out with a 120mm fork at some stage. Any help would be appreciated. I did see this awesome Niner SIR9 on the hub, but after some research i think the large geos will be too big for me (I'm 178)😪 https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/single-speed-mountain-bikes/812399/niner-sir9-ss-large budget is around 6-9k depending on the frame and condition
  11. @warick_wrx very much so, I was financially in a desperate position and it was very sentimental
  12. I’m on the lookout for the Santa Cruz I sold a while back 🙏 if anyone knows the current owner or recognises it I would love to buy it back. I can’t find the buyers details as I lost all my chats. It’s a large older Santa Cruz Tallboy C

    Saddle

@JJDT I have been through about 5 different saddles to find the right one after struggling a lot with everything from Fabric to WTB, I did exactly what @Bichael Dewing said above, ended with a medium/large ergon SMC gel saddle, couldn't be happier
  14. Thats exactly the place i used! Derustit. Thanks for the reminder, will definitely use them again
  15. I did this a couple of years back to a Slade Trail frame, took it to a shop in Montague Gardens (I forget the name) and they dip it in a non corrosive solution and it comes out clean and raw. Cost me R150 bucks. Then i hit it with a scotch brite pad and brasso for a few days and hours as it comes out quite dull in raw alu after removing the paint, and then once it has that brushed look i had a guy apply a clear coat. (Yes i know i didn't do much myself, but it came out good, and was well worth all the blisters from shining it up and scotch briting it)
  16. Thanks! If you’re happy to share, that would be awesome. 🤙
  17. So I’ve spent a lot of time in the cederberg, absolutely love it and ride there a lot on my motorcycle. Just wanted to do something different 👍
  18. @guidodg thanks for the reply, yeah ive never done a multi day trip with a bicycle, but don't want to do the obvious Cederberg option. So looking for something slightly different (And safe of course) don't feel like wrestling with speeding farm bakkies
  19. Howzit all! I'm planning a little Feb trip and want to do a 2-day ride from Gansbaai to Cape Agulhas and back, not sure if there are any good routes, but want to do as much gravel/ off the tarmac as possible, any tips/ route options would be great, don't mind changing it up from a different starting point, but looking for around 70-100km per day riding in and out.
  20. If you’re in CPT and ride a medium you more than welcome to take mine for a spin
  21. Ok so ititial feelings after 15km of short climbs and blasting down some good flowing stuff with a few jumps in between.. climbs exactly how I remember my Slade climbing, it’s perfectly fine. Down though, definitely feels faster and more responsive, I literally have only swapped out the frames at this stage. If I had some more aggressive rubber on the front I feel like I could really push hard into the berms. Cant wait for the next session!
  22. I mean could be fun 😂
  23. I reeeeeally wanted the red frame, just no Mediums were available so settled on white...
  24. @nonky this pics for you!
  25. But in all seriousness, i was just kidding based on the previous pedal to front wheel chats on this forum haha
