  1. @warick_wrx very much so, I was financially in a desperate position and it was very sentimental
  2. I’m on the lookout for the Santa Cruz I sold a while back 🙏 if anyone knows the current owner or recognises it I would love to buy it back. I can’t find the buyers details as I lost all my chats. It’s a large older Santa Cruz Tallboy C

    Saddle

@JJDT I have been through about 5 different saddles to find the right one after struggling a lot with everything from Fabric to WTB, I did exactly what @Bichael Dewing said above, ended with a medium/large ergon SMC gel saddle, couldn't be happier
  4. Thats exactly the place i used! Derustit. Thanks for the reminder, will definitely use them again
  5. I did this a couple of years back to a Slade Trail frame, took it to a shop in Montague Gardens (I forget the name) and they dip it in a non corrosive solution and it comes out clean and raw. Cost me R150 bucks. Then i hit it with a scotch brite pad and brasso for a few days and hours as it comes out quite dull in raw alu after removing the paint, and then once it has that brushed look i had a guy apply a clear coat. (Yes i know i didn't do much myself, but it came out good, and was well worth all the blisters from shining it up and scotch briting it)
  6. Thanks! If you’re happy to share, that would be awesome. 🤙
  7. So I’ve spent a lot of time in the cederberg, absolutely love it and ride there a lot on my motorcycle. Just wanted to do something different 👍
  8. @guidodg thanks for the reply, yeah ive never done a multi day trip with a bicycle, but don't want to do the obvious Cederberg option. So looking for something slightly different (And safe of course) don't feel like wrestling with speeding farm bakkies
  9. Howzit all! I'm planning a little Feb trip and want to do a 2-day ride from Gansbaai to Cape Agulhas and back, not sure if there are any good routes, but want to do as much gravel/ off the tarmac as possible, any tips/ route options would be great, don't mind changing it up from a different starting point, but looking for around 70-100km per day riding in and out.
  10. If you’re in CPT and ride a medium you more than welcome to take mine for a spin
  11. Ok so ititial feelings after 15km of short climbs and blasting down some good flowing stuff with a few jumps in between.. climbs exactly how I remember my Slade climbing, it’s perfectly fine. Down though, definitely feels faster and more responsive, I literally have only swapped out the frames at this stage. If I had some more aggressive rubber on the front I feel like I could really push hard into the berms. Cant wait for the next session!
  12. I mean could be fun 😂
  13. I reeeeeally wanted the red frame, just no Mediums were available so settled on white...
  14. @nonky this pics for you!
  15. But in all seriousness, i was just kidding based on the previous pedal to front wheel chats on this forum haha
  16. 100% hit the nail on the head there, can't wait to take her out on the trail. For someone who needs a do it all bike, i think it will fit the bill perfectly.
  17. Just reigniting this forum as I'm potentially on the lookout for an STF Frame, recently purchased a Rapide frame where I swopped over my Slade Trail bits, going to be my dedicated trail bike for the steeper stuff, I have a carbon Rapide fork i want to use to build up a gravel grinder. If anyone here has a frame/ knows if someone is selling, please hit me up (None floating around any classifieds at the moment) in a Medium, maybe a large👌
  18. My only issue with the Spez is that pedal to front wheel ratio is too small. 😉
  19. Oh I see, in what sort of riding?
  20. By that do you mean the 130mm fork from the Spez worked well on the Rapide vs a 120mm?
  21. I guess it depends on what you going to run up front Rigid fork through to 140mm will determine the STA & the type of climber it will be. (with a 140 mm it's at its slackest) I reckon with a decent 100-120mm up front it should be more forgiving up front. Don't take my word for it though, my riding consists of me crying uphill, laughing on the way down and then enjoying a cold beer before I even take my helmet off.
  22. So, I actually sold my Slade frame to help fund the Tigre, some interesting comparison stats between the 2 on paper: I haven't had a chance to compare, but I'm running it on the exact same base. (Basically just a frame swop) and new tyres.
  23. I will do! hopefully going to take her out at Heldeberg trails or Plesier De Merle on Saturday & G-Spot next weekend. After a quick spin around the block, I'm really eager to test her out on a decent flow trail.
  24. I used the fork I had from my previous Slade Trail, 140mm Revelation.
