  1. PPA with their millions in the bank should step up an co-sponsor the ToSA
  2. Listen to your body. Thats what I learned. I had Glandular Fever and didn't know about it for 2 months and I kept training and racing and it almost ruined me. I was sleeping 16hrs a day and getting sick every 2nd week. Smartest thing I did was take 6 weeks off with no exercise. Then built up slowly starting with 3 20km rides in the first week and built it up for 2 months until I was back to normal training load. When I was sick the glands in my throat became super swollen and I judged whether I should ride or not on how swollen they were and if they were. If they were very sore when I pressed on them I took a day off. Just take it slow and don't try and push through it. I did that and I was on 4 sets of antibiotics in 3 months...
  3. Can anyone give me a description of what the Hekpoort Hill is like (I assume there is only one big hill in the area-on the road). Gradient, distance etc. Much appreciated!
  4. I am looking for a coach for a female university cycling team, in Cape Town. Looking for someone to write a program for 5 girls in the run up to a tour. Any recommendations?
  5. I am riding one at the moment! Definitely worth a look and a ride ;)Great value for money...
  6. I think the biggest thing is longer races (especially if they are flat) and if they are shorter make them more difficult add some hills or something... I did the clover lowveld challenge in mpumalanga with the elites (+-150km a day) and it upped my game big time and that was only over the course of like 4 days. Imagine what a season of that would do... The PPA systme in cape town really does have its merits as well, racing against people your speed is always a lot more fun than being out of your league whether its A or O batch...
  7. I am not signed to a Pro team, mainly because I come from CT (trying to get a degree first)and we don't really have them down here (except VETS). So any major races I want to go and do I have to ride seeded (when I can keep up with Pro's) basically allowing me to fall through the cracks and not get noticed and leave all the pro contracts to those that already have them... Thats crazy!
  8. So if we are under 23's who are not members of pro teams (but can keep up at all the races) we can't ride against them?
  9. Watch an awesome cycling video on youtube before a session or when you considering not riding! Motivation comes back straight away... especially in the long weeks with sore legs!
  10. They've moved to JHB new number is 011 023 2777
  11. Number doesn't work... Gives me a JHB number instead?
  12. Anyone one know where I can get a new powertap 2 PC cable in Cape Town? Isn't there a shop in CT that deals with all this sort of stuff? Mine is broken and need to get hold of a new one ASAP. Thanks
