  2. Hi All So i have a new bike arriving this friday and its cost me a few ronds. I would like to put some frame protection on it before it sees its first bit of dirt. I have been looking around and can find a couple of "kits" available which are ridiculously priced. Ive been seeing many articles and videos about using 3M protective tape (Polyurethane/Helitape) however trying to find this stuff is proving harder than winning the lotto. Does anyone know where i could buy such tape here in Cape Town? (Walk in and purchase, no 5-7 days delivery) Or if anyone has other recommendations on what to use and where to get it. I see alot of people saying Gorilla tape works well and then i also see an equal amount of peeps saying stay away from it? Any advise would be super appreciated
  3. Western Cape, Table view
  4. Not sure if this is the right place for this. So.... After seeing the prices for a MTB Hopper I decided I would just build my own......lol Turns out I have pretty decent wood working skills but my scaling was on another level and ended up with this monstrosity that's definitely not gonna fit in the car boot despite the fact it can be taken apart and assembled without tools. Now its sitting in my garage, taking up what little space I have left. So I want to just give this away. I thought it would be beneficial to post here, maybe there is a community trail that can make use of it or something of the sorts? I don't mind handing t off to an individual but would be cool if it could sit somewhere where it would appreciated by the community. PS: Just needs some treatment to sit outside and some grip tape on the take off
  5. It is When looking around many places list the bike in the "Enduro" category. Might be abit of stretch on the budget but imo there was nothing I would change on the bike. Bought it, jumped on and sent it down dbl black diamonds and jump trails comfortably for the last 6 months without issue. (Besides dinging rims and clawing at the tires down the jank) Took at good couple of wipe outs as well and always walked away with a damaged body and a pristine bike (Down to luck) Would rather stretch the budget abit and buy something thats not gonna limit riding capabilities without having to upgrade components or make any changes at any point.
  6. Have you considered the scott Genius? Similar to the spark but alot beefier. Spark is a trail bike geared more towards XC and the Genius is a Trail bike geared more towards Enduro. 150mm travel back and front. TwinLoc allowing you to adjust both your front and back suspension at the same time from your bars. 4 piston brakes and the list goes on. https://www.cyclelab.com/product/2021-scott-genius-950-dual-suspension-mountain-bike?utm_campaign=13335715365&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=525085504269&utm_term=&adgroupid=122269878239&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5uWGBhCTARIsAL70sLIdDLLy3TxDBNVFgIq6nMYRuqlBwuYmLAnWBMwRPDPTlsrc2A4TeAgaArFaEALw_wcB A while back I got the Genius 930 (Carbon variant) and couldn't be happier. Plus the bikes are compatible with both 29s and 27.5s
