  1. Hi How long should a Sram XX cluster last? thanks.
  2. Apologies, finger problems. I sugest you give the shop the opportunity to replace the bike or return your money. If this fails seek protection in the Consumer Protection Act, 2008. good luck.
  3. Stick with what you have. Crossmark rear and Monorail front (tubelesss). Have tried all combinations and found this to be the best. Slippery over roots and rocks when wet though. What tyre pressures are you guys using?? Thanks.
  4. Hi, does anyone have the trails on their garmin and prepared to share the trails? Thanks.

  6. How about the word " Honesty" for the less informed Ha ha !! But I'm sure you get my drift.
  7. This in all probability an ongoing problem but feel I need to appeal to everyone who uses the sight to fair to the cycling community and you fellow hubbers. A set of wheels were advertised ( I'm not concerned about the price) as 2009 and a fellow hubber remarked that he "thinks" they looked like 2006 wheels. There are 2 points i want to make. 1. I hope they are 2009 but if not the hubber is catching his mates. 2. If the hubber (respondent)does not know whether they are 2006 don't make the comment. You are placing doubt in peoples minds and affecting the sale. Even better still if you see someone selling something with the wrong year find out and send the hubber a friendly note. I'm sure this way everyone will benefit. My toys are out the cot and need to pick them up

  9. Thanks for directing me here. What have you done about the maps and any tricks I need to know if I wish to use it in my car when travelling to Namibia. Abit of a blow with the Candence issue and hope the thing works on my Santa Cruz Blur.
  10. I will be buying an Edge 800 performance bundle (Europe) from Chain Reaction Cycles. Will there be any warranty coverage here in SA? Being a Mountain biker what maps are recommended and secondly I am travelling to Namibia and am sure this gadget will help with directions. Are there additional maps which need to be purchased? Finally are there any pitfalls?
  11. Just to add some debate to the mix. I recently had a serious accident pulled ligaments in the shoulder and pushed the collor bone out a bit but it did not break and smacked my head on the compacted jeep track. I was wearing a specialized helmet which was pretty badly cracked. Walked away with no head injury and back riding again. The point I am merlely making is once you have had an accident or you know of someone who has and walked away unscathed make sure you use a helmet of that make. I have no idea which is the best helmet but make sure you have one on your head for the right reasons and protect that nut of yours. I never took the helmut back to the LBS but does anyone know specialized policy on helmuts?
  12. The stans rim strip and liquid.Good luck you won't be sorry.
  13. No Problem currently running same wheels with stans conversion and Mavic Crossmark lust ust 2.1. No leaks. You will need a high presssure pump as hand and foot pump don't work when absolutely flat.
  14. What are the real differences between these two shocks.
  15. Great help thanks.
  16. I'm an everyday MTB rider spend about 12 hours in the saddle a month mostly 50/50 jeep and single track and some rock gardens etc.and do the odd 55km and stage race.Been offered the following from a local hubber and he appears to to be a honest and nice guy and reckons the parts should be fine for my riding Olympic ZTR rims with tune hubs and DT swiss spokes DT Swiss XRC 100 carbon fork. Is this over the top and will these parts last? I was thinking Mavic Crossmax SLR Disc and FOX FRL 100 Some advice would be great.
  17. thank you
  18. Can somebdy please enlighten me. There was some noise about the 2010 specialized mtb bikes being withdrawn due to some frame problems. Is this merely rumour or is there substane to this.
