  1. I've used one of those before - its two shots with an easy reload but more for close combat (no more than 5 metres) where a knife/pepper spray/asp just won't work. Its small enough to carry on your hip without being to uncomfortable. I would say, stay cool, get the plates and sort it out when you 2 are on even ground or via the SAPS process.
  2. Checking out the air show at Ysterplaat for 3 days - I have no choice my house is in the approach path.
  3. Silverback Reno FTW. I firmly believe that until I am at the top of my game, no bike, no matter how awesome (or expensive) will make the difference. I was passed on the 75 km Knysna MTB by a much older chap who was wearing takkies, PT shorts and a T-shirt, he was on a mountain bike with zero shocks. Do you think I would have beaten him if I was on a 60k Specialized - I doubt it, but putting in an extra hour or two a week will give me the required results and if not at least I haven't wasted my money.
  4. hmm will see if I can track down a flow - doesn't look like it will come in under 3k though. thanks for the advise.
  5. I've had clipless pedals for almost a year and occasionally I still forget that I am wearing them!
  6. I have learnt to open my mouth with 'I have a MTB' - that saves a lot of hardship and confusion when you lead onto the question of, I would like to be able to measure my power for around or under R3 000 and it must work as a stationary solution, so no virtual or wind activated devices please. Any ideas ? If 3k is laughable and you have something else in mind - any entry level solution will do for now - I am all ears.
  7. I'm always on my own, but I keep my wife informed of my route and ensure that she is aware that I should be home at a certain time.
