  1. Man, I'm 27 and married, I have a little 2 year old daughter and another due in September. The cost of living is so expensive that I'm strongly considering selling my one and only bike to ensure my family is seen to, which will mean I'd have to give up my favourite sport, my therapy. I have an Enduro Hardtail that I absolutely adore. I couldn't afford a full bike so I built it from the frame up over a period of a year and a half. My plan was to always get a full suspension, but the fact that I may have to give up the sport altogether means that's absolutely impossible now. I sometimes feel like MTB is the only thing keeping me sane and losing it will make things so much more difficult. It's tough out here, especially for us young people.
  2. Hi all I rounded the bleed screw on my Shimano brake lever. If anyone has a broken lever or spare screw lying around, please let me know.
  3. Seems like we encountered the same group, I got them at Mamba, who, funny enough, were discussing whether they should run up Cobra ????
  4. There isn't room for courtesy on a trail like Cobra where, one, there is an immediate blind spot after the drop in, and two, you need momentum and cannot stop on the first stretch. Courtesy is always nice but when it's due.
  5. I was at Tokai MTB this weekend and about 5 seconds before dropping in to Cobra (Black trail), two trail runners came running up the trail. Now, I'm not one to faf and behave like a Karen, but if my buddy and I dropped into that trail and collided with these trail runners, it would have been a VERY bad situation with some serious injuries taking into account how gnarly, with lots of blind spots and close to the edge of the mountain the trail is. This isn't the first time as well. A few months back we were dropping into DH0 and there were hikers descending the trail as well. Has anyone else had this problem before? It seems these trail runners are coming from Silvermine side and not through the Tokai MTB gates. Of course we can share the mountain but the MTB specific trails are a big no no. It needs to be stopped before someone gets seriously hurt.
  6. Wow!! I came across this and I couldn't believe my eyes. I received the exact same email from this guy. Not being an idiot I obviously outright refused any of his attempts at getting me to use this payment route, but I'm just shocked at this. Hope no one fell victim.
  7. Hi all Anyone have an old 175mm MTB crankset lying around? My Rapide set was faulty and covered by warranty. However, a month ago I was told it would take a month. Today I was told it would hopefully come the end of next month. That's 2 months without riding! Please help! I'll be happy to return it after my cranks arrive. Based in Cape Town
  8. Hi all Anyone have an old shock pump they're not using? Back in the day Rockshox gave a nice shock pump with their forks, now, all we get is a lousy mud guard
  9. Aaah I see. I'll pop you a message if I'm around one day. Thanks so much man, appreciate it
  10. Not quite, actually quite far from Sunningdale, but I'll be in the CBD area tomorrow. Will you be around by any chance? And thank you
  11. Hi all Does anyone perhaps have an old bicycle storage item that they're no longer using? I've been storing my MTB on its back and my toddler treats it like a seesaw. Preferably a wall-mounted one to get it out of the way and out of her reach. Thanks Fakhrie
