  3. sure we can wait a few weeks... the plan is to arrange a SS ride / get together in the Spruit - just for the hell of it... anybody have comments or recommendations on the following dates: 1 Dec, 2 Dec, 8 Dec, 9 Dec? (holding onto my hat, sinking deep into my shoulders )
  4. that certainly makes sense...

  14. haha - time lapse would be great hey Stretch?!
  15. I am starting my first proper SS build - 29er of coarse. The plan is to get the bike workable at first and then pimp it up over time... These are some of the initial parts, still waiting for the blue anodized cranks to arrive. I will be poaching some parts from my geared bike as well... Hope to be riding it by the weekend... VERY EXCITED !!!
  16. I am thinking I will never sleep again until I get myself one of these... most awesome bike I have seen up to date!
  17. the only reason I was coming up the rear (seriously - NO PUN INTENDED) was because I played mechanic for about 3 people, this was good so I had loads of open track to myself slowly catching the field, and enjoying the refreshments "bombed down the mountain" - something like that - I think the beer revealed a new level of fearless downhill skills in me... Special thanks to all the super chilled people who made way for a GCTD (green crash test dumbass) to fly past , and special yeehaa for the crazy guy who stuck to my wheel for most part on the downhill - I still don't know who he is and didn't see him at the bottom - hope he didn't do the headgear test on a rock... still dream about that descent...
  18. which reads: " I ARE WEARING A JEAN PANT"
  19. I can't decide between my green-(single)-piece and my jean pant....
  20. any bikes on offer?
  21. Second dibs!!!!! need to find something that will go with my "jean pant"...
  22. diep dors bier maag - check green suit - check gumboots - check bike with pedals and a chain - check racing you ask? off course - BOAT RACING!
  23. I live in Northcliff, ride over the hill and down the Spruit... and back... I must admit there are 2 short sections where I sometimes need to jump off and run the bike up for 20m - 50m... This is only because I find the x18 frustrating on the flats... but I am used to hike-a-bike from adventure racing. But as I said - only recently converted and still need some experience...
  24. any body in the Northcliff area going to SSWC? looking for someone to buddy up with... need advice, do a few rides, maybe travel together to Winterton... PM me.
  25. recently converted to SS, can ride 32x16 comfortably on my 29er (little bit tough on the steep hills), but think I'll probably go with 32x18 for Winterton - seeing as there will be some beer hurdles...
